because of symptoms, now not sure if the condom failed.
« on: June 23, 2013, 05:19:32 pm »
Good day,

I had a protected oral and vaginal sex with a stripper in spain last month, at first I just thought that I am safe, until after about 2 weeks after exposure I developed some slightly raised rashes like pimples that gets bigger that looks like hives on my chest that I just ignored, but then every day those rashes are getting worst, Now I have these rashes almost all over my body, chest, shoulder, inner arms, legs, groin and back, for about 3 weeks now, some of it just started as a small dot then everyday its getting bigger and bigger and spreading but some are also appearing on different sizes, some of it also are clearing now after taking antihistamins and leaving scar and flaked / dry skin before it heals, some of it also reduces already the redness but still leaving the raised skin, but not all of them are healing at the same time,

now I am scared that maybe I got HIV because of my last encounter, thinking that maybe the condom breaks that I did not noticed it. But I am the one who took the condom off my penis and I did not noticed anything unussual but who knows right? but I remember when I was pulling it out it was intact on my penis but I did not check the tip of the condom if its broken.I did not ejaculated and that whole act lasted for maybe 15-20 minutes but not continues.

I already promised before to my self that I will never have unsafe sex to anybody that I don’t know about the status. But now after that incident it’s making me crazy even if used condom, because of these rashes that seems not healing but just transfering from one place to another, and also sometimes I am having this headache and peeling hands always feeling cold that I did not felt before the exposure.

My questions are:

1. do you think that I will notice the condom if break? I thinks so,..but now I am not sure.

2. Are those rashes sound like ARS rash? because timing that it appeared really scares me,

3. Is it possible for an adult to be infected by a lactating women thru breast milk via open wound in mouth, I remember I sucking and licking her nipples for sometime and I have wound in my gums that time which is until now still here.

4. Is there any rule in spain on strip clubs for thier workers to be tested for STD's?
(I know this is a silly question but I will give it a try because I saw there is a spanish language in this site.)

Any inputs will be highly appreciated. I am really scared right now, knowing that if the condom breaks it is the same as unprotected sex, (cross finger) i hope the condom did not break..Thanks and more power to all of you who are always there helping those who are in need! may you always have a happy life.

You are worrying unnecesarily. Nothing you are reporting symptomatically is in anyway HIV specific. That is not surprising because you have protected intercourse, which is the most important detail in your story of this incident. Unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse are the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV.

If the condom had failed you would absoultely have known it. When that happens it's not about itty  bitty little holes. No, the whole thing goes and ends up looking like a hope with strands of latex on your penis.

The condom did just what is supposed to do: it gave you effective protection against HIV transmission if it was present.

Whatever is causing your symptoms has nothing to do with HIV. If your symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. This is not and HIV situation. Period.

1. do you think that I will notice the condom if break? I thinks so,..but now I am not sure.

Condoms are designed in such a way that they fail catastrophically as to leave no doubt , so you would have known had it broke .

2. Are those rashes sound like ARS rash? because timing that it appeared really scares me,

Its no good guessing about what symptom are from and the only way to know your HIV status is to test for HIV .

3. Is it possible for an adult to be infected by a lactating women thru breast milk via open wound in mouth, I remember I sucking and licking her nipples for sometime and I have wound in my gums that time which is until now still here.

Only infants are at risk for HIV from breast milk due to their immature immune system , so its nothing you should be concerned about .

4. Is there any rule in spain on strip clubs for thier workers to be tested for STD's?
(I know this is a silly question but I will give it a try because I saw there is a spanish language in this site.)

I don't know the answer to that , only the solution . If you use condoms correctly and consistently for vaginal and anal sex you will avoid HIV , its that simple . If you protect your own HIV status other people's status becomes irrelevant .

You didn't have a risk in the situation you described so I would go see the doctor and find out what that rash is from .

WHoah, thank you very much sir Jeff G and sir Andy, I will hold on to what you have said and really really try to move on, but I will still take the test at 6 weeks mark and 12 weeks mark just to be sure. I will just try to ignore all the weird pains and things that is happening to my body while waiting for the right time for the test, That was a relief on the 2 things that you have said,

1.If the condom had failed you would absoultely have known it. When that happens it's not about itty  bitty little holes. No, the whole thing goes and ends up looking like a hope with strands of latex on your penis.

2.Condoms are designed in such a way that they fail catastrophically as to leave no doubt , so you would have known had it broke .

I think thats the most important thing for me to hear right now,.I will still appreciate if some more inputs will come along, many thanks really for your support and effort replying to my questions.

Good day moderators, Its me again, I really tried to move on and kept myself busy since I last posted in here, but eversince last week, I am still experiencing some symptoms related to hiv, I have muscle and joint pain, itchy skin thay comes and goes, my rashes somewhat cleared a bit after taking clarin for about 1 week,  but some of it are just going back and forth, and its color is disturbing me, it sometimes changing colors from pinkish to reddish to brownish especially the one ones in my inner torso (arms), its leaving some dry and flaky skin on top of those rashes and some are leaving scars on it after healing, then just two days ago I had nighy sweat when i was sleeping its not that soaky wet but in still sweating for no reason, I have no fever so far, actually I am monitoring everytime my temperature and its a bit lower than normal, 36.5 deg. Cel. Max, it is still 2 weeksmore before I can take the test because of my work is far from the testing centre and itvwill 8 week post exposure by then, I just need somebody right now who I can talk about tithis and need some expert advice, Im sorry for the drama and hope understand my situation, I still hope that I dot have actually no risk at all and all this things are just due to my thyroid desease. Pslease any advice will be really appreciated and more power.

The thing is , HIV is one condition among thousands that could have similar symptoms  , since you didn't have a risk its not HIV that's making you sick , so you need to go to a doc and find out what's wrong with you .

You symptoms are not specific to HIV , so focusing on them is a guessing game you will not win .
