Probably just being paranoid, but...
« on: November 01, 2009, 03:31:30 pm »
I'm probably just being really paranoid and it's notihng, i'm just a worrying person :(

On Wednesday, i went out for a few drinks (but enough to remember the night), fell over and somehow trod on my finger and scraped my skin, there was no blood leakiage or anything at all just took of layer of skin. It started scabbing the next day since it was only a small wound, and a few days later, the scab was at the stage were you could see the skin getting scarred around it, and i couldn't even get my nail under it, completely forgetting about it, i fingered my girl friend, not for long however. I later then realised that i fingered her with that finger.

We've been together for almost two years now, she's never shagged anyone else and nor have i. We've had sex many times, but we both lost our virginity to each other. I've never cheated and nor has she.

I'm just worried and scared about there being a chance that i could anything :(

Anyone could offer any help or am i just being really paranoid :-\

You could not either become infected nor infect someone through fingering. It's a non-risk activity as far as HIV transmission is concerned.

We generally advise anyone who's planning to dispense with using condoms, that both partners who are committing to a securely monogamous relationship be tested together. That way any doubts are removed about HIV status. You may feel this is unnecessary in your case since you say you were both "firsts" for each other. I mention it just as a precaution.

The concern which brought you to this site was not a risk for HIV transmission.

Cheers.

We usually use a condom anyways, but when she's the pill, i don't ejactulate inside here anyways.
So there's no chance of me having it at all then and i should stop worrying? :)

edit, i noticed i didn't say thank you. So thank you for your help :)

The recent event which brought you here was not a risk for transmission nor is there any need for testing.

Personally I would still say that you and your gf need to be clear about being securely monogamous and just as a precaution I would suggest getting tested together so there is no cause for doubt. But you will have to decide if that is necessary or not.
