Hello! For the purposes of posting on here my name is B and I am a homosexual nineteen-year old male. I just met a man who I ended up sleeping with. I knew beforehand that this man was hiv + but he said it was "undetectable." Now I did a bit of research, (and tell me if I read complete bs) but what that means is that he is under medication to slightly limit or reduce his viral load. Now onto the juicy stuff..

When I slept with him I made some very stupid decisions. I was the "bottom," and we had unprotected oral and anal sex. This doesn't mean much, but we only had anal sex for less than five minutes before he ejaculated on my stomach. I am not really worried about the oral so much (although I am aware you can still contract hiv) but I am worried about the small time spent having anal sex as he was quite large and it did hurt a bit. I still am in contact with him, so it's not like it was a "hit and run" incident.

I have never been tested and am planning to go either tomorrow or when I get back from a week vacation next week. I also read that it takes about four weeks for an accurate result. Anything I should do while waiting to be tested? What are my chances of being infected? My best friend is freaking out about it and in turn, is making me a bit nervous as well as I guess I should be.

First of all, what you need to do is to stop having unprotected anal sex. It's a high risk activity and especially as the receptive partner. You can have all the anal sex you want to, but you need to do it the safer way which means the insertive partner is always wearing a condom.

You know sexual pleasure is temporary but if you get HIV it's FOREVER.

As for this incident, you should wait until 6 weeks for an initial test. If you test negative then it is likely to be negative again at 3 months when you test for a conclusive negative result.
