Montreal Trip ?
« on: July 03, 2006, 12:26:03 am »
Hi everyone, I just found this forum today and feel like I found a pot of gold, actual people communicating with each other. Montreal sounds like great fun and if I can I'm going to try to make the trip. I tentatively have plans to go on a poz cruise this October, but Montreal sounds more exciting and I'm ready for a trip sooner than later. It would be great to meet other poz people and enlarge my circle of friends. I'll just need to schedule the time off of work and make some travel arrangements. I'll see what I can work out. If I'm not able to attend this adventure then maybe I will be at the next one.  I was actually surfing the web today trying to find Poz travel groups.

Hi Doug,

It would be great if you can join us in Montreal. Keep us up-to-date with your travel plans if you can make it.

Hey Doug!~

Hope you can make it.  It would be great to meet you.  We had our 1st meeting last Sept in Toronto when about 15-20 of us got together.  It was the 1st time any of us had ever met.  It looks like about 40 people coming to Montreal and, again, it will be the 1st time for most of us to actually meet although we've been bantering back and forth all year.

You're certainly more than welcome.  The more the merrier, that's for sure.   I hate taking no for an answer, so I'll be looking for you!!

Hi Doug

I want to echo what Canuck and Robert said:  We'd love to have you come to Montreal.  Would you be flying out of PDX?  (That's where I'll be leaving from.)  Delta, American, or AirCanada are the 3 best choices (only 1 stop each way), but the fares are pushing up, so don't wait too long.

Hey RAB,

Yes I think flying out of PDX would be the wise choice, fares out of Eugene are running approximately
$1,000, and I seen fares out of PDX at about $680. I'm trying to see if I can use my frequent flier miles on united, might be a good chance due to the dates not being a holiday weekend.  I also need to check on a few things I have going on at work as I have a few business trip scheduled in August also.
If I can't make this trip I'll defiantly plan for the next event.  I don't return back to work until this coming Wednesday so it will probably be Friday before I know of anything definite.

Doug

Aircanada has a fare of $575.00 with one change in Vancouver BC.

United, Delta have fares with one stop of $590.00

I'm using mileage for my ticket (otherwise the price would have been prohibitive for me).

Hope you can make it.

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately I'm not going to make it this time. I really wish I could but I have a couple of interviews this next week and the following week and I'm hoping the one I really want will come through.  I was really looking forward to being able to do a trip like this. I think there is a strong chance I'll be at the next gathering; I'll be looking forward to future announcements about the next gathering.  I know you'll will have a great time.

Hey Doug,

Maybe you can help us steer this group to the West and Vancouver BC.  We tried to get that location voted on this time, but there are far too many from east of the Mississippi that didn't want to fly West, and if you stick around, and we can get others; we might be able to get the group to the West Coast.  ;)

Thanks for checking in, and sorry you won't be able to make this one.

and 362 to heterosexuals.
This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

Doug:

WELL POOP!   >:(

I was hoping it would work out for you this year, but completely understand.  Good luck with the interviews.  (BTW if you end up relocating to Portland, let me know, we can hook up for coffee one day. )
