Goodbye 1st Regimen, Hello 2nd!
« on: February 08, 2008, 07:19:06 pm »
 ;D

My doctor and I have decided to "make the switch".

After two years of a combination of Kaletra and Truvada, which worked well sans the minor GI issues and never ever being able to get my cholesterol and triglycerides remotely under control, I begin Atripla, the Once A Day Car Polish! Errrm, Once a day HIV med...  :D

There was some concern with a prior pcp because of some mental health issues that I sometimes exhibit, (depression, anxiety) but the new Dr felt we could successfully test and monitor this treatment safely and I'm inclined to agree. If there was ever a time for me to try it, it would be now because so many things are going so well and I'm Sooooooooo blessedly undepressed (is this a word?) right now that I feel I can tell if the Atripla begins to affect me negatively.

WOW, ONE PILL ONCE A DAY!!!  ;D

Wish me luck!  :)

Wow.  Now there's a cheerful statement just begging to be quoted!

Best of luck with the new regimen!

Thanks all!  ;D

Was a little intimidated when I started by stuff I've heard about the Sustiva component but I think I'm tolerating it pretty well. And I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that I no longer am dealing with the runs  ::)

Thats good to hear Marc, glad you are doing ok, one pill a day is certainly better than a handful.

Good luck with the Atripla, Marc.  Hubby and I have been on it since Dec. '06 and haven't had any emotional / mental issues from it.  Well, we have had weird dreams.  I take mine in the morning first thing and sometimes feel a bit stoned, but nothing bad!   ::)  Hopefully, you'll do as well on it as we have.
