Title: Kaletra and Cialis
Post by: Vinnieowes on January 21, 2007, 12:59:49 am
I am currently taking Kaletra and I also took a Cialis. I looked up the Cialis website and it said that you should not take it if you are on Norvir. Well my Kaletra has Norvir in it, does it not? Should I be concerned?

Can't say if you should be concerned or not since I am no expert, but this is what the Norvir site says:

The following medicines require dose reduction if taken with NORVIR:
If you are taking PDE5 inhibitors for erectile dysfunction including Viagra® (sildenafil), Cialis®
(tadalafil), or Levitra® (vardenafil), your doctor may lower your dose of these medications.

Before you take Viagra®, Cialis® or Levitra® with NORVIR, talk to your doctor about possible
drug interactions and side effects. If you take these medications with NORVIR you may be at risk
of side effects such as low blood pressure, visual changes, and penile erection lasting more than
4 hours. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, you should get medical help immediately to avoid
permanent damage to your penis. Your doctor can explain these symptoms to you.

I would guess that if it was a one time thing and you haven't had these side effects yet that you're probably okay but need to check with your doctor before taking it agaiin.
