Title: HIV Spinal Cord Fluid
Post by: mutual_minds on August 19, 2006, 05:29:22 pm
I was told the HIV left my blood and entered into my spinal cord fluid.  This has affected my gate (walking) and want to know if anyone has any info on this.  What can I expect?  It affects my job, can I go on disability?

I think all of us have the virus in the spinal cord and the brain. Meds that cross the brain barrier are de weapon against dementia.

when I was diagnosed in 1994, I had pretty bad "dementia" to the point I had to have a person direct me physically to the elavator and press the button for me to get to the correct floor.

The HIV/AIDS MD I saw then prescribed me 1,000mgs. of AZT each day for about 6 months.  I have serious short term memory as well as severe neuropathy (never could figure if this is AIDS or drug related) in my lower legs and feet

I sometimes wonder if it's creeping back on me.
