I have 2 unopened bottles of Lexiva that I no longer need and want to know where would be a good place to donate it.

If your doctor took your extra meds, he/she was probably supposed to destroy it.
Medicine exchange is illegal. You have to be stealthy if you want it to be of use to someone. Under the table. At least in most cases.

I read threads like this and I remember dear Lisa. Mocked and vilified on the forums for doing a brave and charitable thing. I used to send her my old unused meds, and always included a ferret toy for her precious SweetieWeasel.
There are people in these forums who cannot get access to meds at all, and there are people on these forums with meds to spare. I wish someone would be brave enough to risk everything in order to see people treated for this terrible disease.

He did tell that and I told him I though that was dumb. After I seen him I had to wait on blood to be drawn and he caught on my way out and asked me to bring it in on my next appointment and he hold onto to it. Have not idea what he really did with it.

Same here. She will have been gone for three years already on April 5th. What a loss to us all. I miss her so much.

There are some caring, compassionate doctors out there who will "hold onto" meds (in bottles with unbroken foil seals) and pass them on to patients they know are having a hard time funding their meds.
These doctors may feel obliged to tell you that their intent is to destroy the drugs, but that's to cover their ass. Can you blame them?

Aid for AIDS International accepts HIV anti-virals and drugs to treat opportunistic infections (just no narcotics) and redistributes them outside the US so I guess that what makes it OK with the US government.
They have a network of pharmacies in New York and some other major cities where you can drop off or you can follow the instructions on the website and send them in. I just dropped off 7 bottles of Kaletra in Atlanta.
