From a friends FB wall with some additions:

So, let me get this straight...Charlie Sheen can make a "porn family", Kelsey Grammer can end a 15 year marriage over the phone, Larry King can be on divorce #9, Britney Spears had a 55 hour marriage, Jesse James and Tiger Woods, while married, were having sex with EVERYONE, Newt Gringrigh has had several mistresses and his on his third wife, countless elected officials have had affairs, one Representative was active at a brothel, Ted Haggard got cracked out while doing the nasty with a man and Jim Baker left his lovely wife Tammy Faye after his "indiscretion".  Yet, the idea of same-sex marriage is going to destroy the institution of marriage? Really?

Hypocrites and Religious fanatics, will destroy the whole world as we know it, if they get their way, we cannot EVER let this happen, if we do, we only have our own selves to blame, "cream always rises to to top and water stays at it's own level"

The destruction wrought by  failing marriages.
I guess every sexual orientation and gender permutation should have the same opportunity to do better, or just as poorly.
Politically I support equal rights to all the social and legal institutions for LGBT people.  Personally I had hoped, when I was young, that LGBT could do partnerships better with less destruction.  I think some do.  I still think the ones who never marry and have long term fulfilling partnerships, and even families, are heroes.  I also admire the happily married heteros I see celebrating 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries, and children well-raised.

I'm not sure I understand why they are heroes?  Is it because they didn't marry? ???

I've seen this going around FB.  The first version didn't have the part about Charlie Sheen.  Also, the Bachelor shows get on my last nerve.  You have all these women begging for the guy to pick them and marry them.  People eat this shit up, because the show is on its 14th season or something like that.  I read somewhere that the show's audience is heavily conservative--the same people against gay marriage.

Yep Bocker, because they probably came from a generation that didn't care about "hetero" institutions and made a go of it without the traditional thing they weren't interested in.
It really wasn't so long ago that "gay marriage" wasn't much of an issue in gay culture or politics. 
I know other gays my age who feel the same as myself.

The thought of gay marriage never seemed like an issue in the 80's since the majority of those I knew had relationships that didn't last as long as that month's rent. 

God forbid that gay folk ruin that 50% success rate of hetro marriages.

This may make people feel righteously indigent but it not a good argument for same-sex marriage.
