Dear Al Gore,

It's so hot and humid for late January that I have swampass/crotch and it's only noon, and I've had to peel down to my underwear. Obviously the heat has been shut off for days.

I think we've had a total of 2.5" of measurable snow all season.

Kind Regards,

Miss P

Oh you thin-skinned yanks take the cake. Quit yer bitchin' till you have a mid january tornado, and have hovered in the 80's for the past few days ..http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/weather/article/Tornado-tears-up-West-Side-street-2685044.php

Girl, were you spread eagle up in the Bear Lounge at the Club Body Center and failed to call me?

Yes, that 2.5" of snow was from last week.

Oh, I just checked the long range forecast and temps will finally plummet into below normal levels just in time for my birthday. That's February 6th in case any of you need to get presents in the mail.

No, I met a nice couple at the Bike Stop and they invited me to their apartment for decorous conversation.

But yes, I should take you to dinner.

People in Miami this morning were wearing coats, scarves, and thick sweaters because we were in the low to mid-50's.  Next time I see this I need to take some pictures.

We had a wind chill factor of 6℉ yesterday morning, but other than the last few days we've been running 10 degrees above normal most of the season.

Stuck in the snow? Barbara please -- we've had a mere 4" total this season. It's currently 61℉ and sunny. Tomorrow should be just as warm.

methinks you should be more worried about having a tornado warning in February... unheard of all the way up to southern Maryland.

The line just came through-- it seemed to split just as it neared the Richmond area -- a little rain, a little wind, but looked worse just north and south of me.

OK, I don't remember ever seeing this happen. We're having a 24 hour high wind event today, but the temperature is about 40℉. Yet we're having a a thick snow squall that is obliterating the skyline a mile from me, and the snow is actually "lake effect snow" from the Great Lakes 400 miles away.

Yet on radar it's showing it as rain and only as snow maybe 200 miles west of here.

edit: major wow factor -- that lasted for a total of 5-10 minutes and now magically it's disappeared and it's completely sunny.

The first time I experienced lake effect snow I thought I was tripping . It was a beautiful spring day in Chicago with blue Sky's and I couldn't get it through my southern bred brain why it was sunny and snowing really hard . I stood looking at the sky and it finally hit me it had to be coming off lake Michigan .

We're having a 24 hour high wind event today

hehehe... I like that; "high wind event". I'll have to remember that phrase next time it's blowing a hoolie here on the Rock. (which will probably be next week sometime) I also rather like the local colloquialism "blowing a hoolie", but "high wind event" sounds so 21st century. :)

The wind was blowing so hard the other evening that when I walked home from the grocery over the road, I had to bend forward and my arms (and shopping bags) were blown way out behind me. On the way there, the wind was behind me and I nearly got blown out into the street (while waiting to cross) into the path of an oncoming Land Rover. whew!

edit: major wow factor -- that lasted for a total of 5-10 minutes and now magically it's disappeared and it's completely sunny.

That happened here last week. When I went into a local second-hand bookshop, the sun was shining. Within ten minutes there was a huge crack of thunder (rare here) and you couldn't see across the street for hail and snow - big fat flakes. About fifteen minutes after this started the sun was shining again. Weird. Even for weather on the Rock.

Happy last day of Winter everyone!

so what were the total snow tallies?

San Antonio - Zero inches.

btw, It is fixing to give it to us here in Texas. We ahve a cold front colliding with the warm humid Gulf air and storms are developing. We are expecting High wind, large hail and several inches of rain. Our weatherman said there is 101% chance of at least 1 tornado in our viewing area (of course tornados are weekly occurences here). I'm all battened down with the Benz in the garage and a frozen lasagna in the oven. ;)

Noodles and blow jobs.  What more could a queen ask for, other than a few more inches  :P

PS: not a stitch of snow fell here in NYC either because us real new yorkers don't count dustings.

Are you OK, Wumpy? It looks like all of the fast food drive throughs were destroyed by the wrath of God last night in your area.

Yes, the big guy did smite a few of us Texans last night, but being the good christian that I am the tornado stayed well away from me.

It was quite an impressive storm, one of those turn out all the lights and open a couple windows and just take in all the thunder and lightning.

But jsut in case I made sure my Tornado closet was ready for me .

Do you really have a tornado closet in your double-wide mobile home?

btw, on Thursday we will have abnormally high temperatures of +80 degrees. A normal high this time of year is 55.

And as far as mobile homes go, I've actually only been in one once in my entire life. But then again I expect most of you have never spent the night in a project/public housing in the South Bronx.

Can you believe we're having a blast of Arctic air today and that the wind chill factor will go down to 20F tonight (actual temps of 29F with a NOAA freeze warning)?

At least it's not going to snow like it did in Southern California last night.

Where did winter go? I didnt even get to wear all my sweaters. I can tell its going to be a barn burner again this summer. It's getting hot here already. Mid-80's.

Maybe I will relocate to Hawaii, isnt it 78 there year round?
