The pain
« on: September 19, 2013, 06:18:06 pm »
Middle of the night before last I fell down a flight of 14 stairs & gave my head a good wack. So I bundled myself into a cab and got to my local A&E to get checked out.

The triage nurse, when talking to the ward manager described me as "an elderly gentleman". The bruising, sprains and grazing will heal, but that comment has scarred me for life.

In my early 50s, I guess that is about 196 in gay years.

50's is when the real fun begins! Takes that long to figure out what's really going on . . . and still with enough energy to "work it!"

Ouch! I guess that officially makes me "elderly".

OOOOH! That means I can be cranky and horny at the same time! There are always positive sides to things.

Oh!  I can sympathize (with the stair incident).  I once went down a steep flight of stairs, and my upper jaw separated.  I hope your healing goes fast.

Sorry for the "elderly" remark.  I went through a Wendy's drive-thru a couple months ago, without makeup on.  When I got to the "pay" window the cashier said "oh, I'll give you the senior discount."  I'm almost 50.

I wouldn't give it another thought.

btw, falling down the stairs and landing in a crumpled, bruised, bloodied and batter mess is why I quit Sustiva immediately and gladly developed resistance.  ;)

Oh do I know what you are on about. This is the summer that I started with the stick, O.K its one off those sporty walking poles but lets face it its a walking stick.

And since I , ve had it me and gravity have been getting on a lot better.

I regularly get called Sir it used to be mate.

But really I don,t mind that much it seems such a paradox to fight to stay alive then flounder in depression due to signs off aging I lecture myself.

Plus its introduced a new city choreography challenge , how to manipulate Dog , stick ,rucksac and at the moment Autumn cold .

As my late Mother used to say getting old ain,t for sissies boy .

Hope your healing is quick.

Big Hugs to you all.

Many thanks for sharing all your love.  It all helps.

The irony is  that with the bruising and abrasions  I really do feel elderly.

Anyway lots of folks have had a good laugh at me and with me in the last few days. I've gotten some very welcome gentle hugs. It's all good.  :-*
