just tested + in the army

Hi all just found the site, never thought I'd ever be looking for help and advice for something like this. I tested + less than a week ago and gave another sample at the same time, they took that much that i thought they were draining the life from me. i cant remember much of what they said after the results. I feel lucky that the guy i started seeing not long ago has been so strong that i try look at things clear and unloathing way. iI still hope however wen i go back for my results at the end of the month they're gonna say it was all a big mistake.

As for work i have no idea were i stand who i tell, is it best to keep the same doc to keep treatment consistant, I'll never deploy again so feel I've let ever other serving member down as someone else will have to fill my spot.

Hey... welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed 4 months ago, i too was shocked and scared, its sooooooooooo normal to feel that way. Wait for that last results, yes it can be a mistake, but be sure that the chances are low.
Start looking for info of what HIV is, and how you can live with it, things are not so hard as it seems, its far from being the end of something.

Keep in touch, this forum helped me a lot since the very begining

Hi, quick update some really good news today my partner just got a neg result for his first test since i tested pos, i realise that this may still be in the window period however i feel a massive releif and think at least it's a massive step forward.

Gettin them results  today turned me inside out and upside down while waiting for the answer glad it's over for a while.

That's hard to read... being gay and in the army is one thing, but being positive and in the army takes it to a whole other level. I sincerely hope you caught it early on and can continue with what I hope it is you love. I hope you have a strong support system around you. My heart goes out to you.  This is a great forum and I am so thankful I have found it.

OK Zola, whatever the results you're still going to be getting on with your life. You need to be aware that if this is a recent infection the likelihood is that your numbers will jump around a bit for a while until they settle down. Your doctor will need to watch them for a few months to get the pattern down.

Having a good working relationship with your doctor is one of the best tools you have for staying healthy.

Right now this is all very, very new for you. Gradually you're going to learn whatever you need to know for staying healthy. And yes, your life is going to go on with this new element in it. 

Remember that you're always welcome here to ask questions and to talk about anything that's on your mind.

We'll be expected to hear further about your results at the beginning of the week.

Hi all, well the results day finally came, first time i've seen the specialist, he seemed really nice fairly easy to talk to. hope this continues, was a little weird taling about sex and stuff but he just seemed so calm with the whole situation, he helped me think about telling my own doc and things. i'll give the results now as my head is still a bit messed up at the mo .
cd4- 361,  v/l - 16000. cheers again guys more blood results in 3 weeks.
