Title: risk from undetectable
Post by: priso92 on April 20, 2014, 12:12:20 am
Hello,

I wanted to know my risk profile. My partner is HIV+ undetectable and I am on PreP. We do not use condoms and we both top and bottom. He frequently ejaculates inside me.

my doctor says my chances of getting hiv are pretty much nil, is this true from your experience?

I understand there is some risk but we're willing to accept that fact.

Priso,

I moved your thread into the Someone I Care About Has HIV, so you would get more responses.  The Am I Infected forum is only for questions regarding risk and not for discussions on therapies or their usage.  There is plenty of information here regarding the use of PreP and you can search the forums for those threads.

Okay thanks  :D

I took the chance to read through several threads on couples with different HIV statuses. It seems to be that HIV is primary spread through people who do not know their HIV status and if they are HIV+, are not on treatment therefore making them highly infectious due to their high viral loads.

In the case of my partner and I, he's been UD since 08/2013 and is pretty obsessive in terms of taking his meds. I've just started taking PrEP and so far have gotten mild stomach upset in the beginning but nothing now.
