Resul,

Your doctor is not correct. The window period for HIV is 3 months. Your 6 and 7 month test results are conclusive. You don't need to test again at 12 months.

Resul, as Matty has told you, your doctor is totally wrong when he tells you that you have to test for as long as a year.

The CDC in the US, which is very conservative regarding HIV testing, has for sometime stated that a negative result at 13 weeks (3 months) is sufficient for a reliable answer. The only exceptions are cases which involved IV drug use or if someone has been getting treatment for cancer or other health issues which involve a severely depleted immune system.

Very unfortunately all-too-many doctors aren't up-to-date on HIV in general and about HIV testing in particular. You have more than reliably tested negative for HIV so you can stop worrying. And please remember that if you are having intercourse, whether it's vaginal or anal, you must use a condom everytime. No exceptions. As long as you do that you will be well protected as far as HIV is concerned.

Cheers,

Resul,

Thank you for returning to your original thread.

I understand that you're worried, but once again let me reassure you that your test results at 6 and 7 months are conclusive.

You don't have HIV.

Your doctor is wrong when he tells you that you need to test at 12 months. You don't.

Unfortunately, I don't speak Turkish so I'm not able to understand the content of the link you posted.

resul,

You don't need to test again. Herpes, no matter where it happens on your body, is not hiv related.

Show the sore in your mouth to your doctor. We cannot diagnose what it is and neither can you.

You do not have hiv.

Condoms provide very effective protection. We know that from many years of experience. Nothing other than using your hand on yourself is ever going to be 100% safe.

You have to decide if you are going to continue to indulge in this self-torture about HIV. You are HIV negative. Period. End of story.

I'm not sure if you are relating your smoking to HIV risk or not. It's not clear. But smoking will not affect the validity of an HIV test.

As a health issue in general  you should discuss smoking with your doctor as well as ny sign of herpes. A herpes sore as such is not a specific symptom of HIV.

This response of yours: ''test never be %100 certain but 3 months test is % 98''
what do you think abaut that ?
why every one says different think abaut seraconversion ?"

We can't account for what others say. If you read our lessons on transmission and testing you get the basics and very specific, reliable information. There are links to them in the Welcome thread which opens this section.

If you keep looking on the web for things that will feed your fears I can promise you will find them. Surfing the net is not healthy when you're in an anxious state. What we have told you and what is in the lessons is the real deal.

What you choose to do in searching further and scaring yourself is strictly up to you and and is not our responsibility.

Not everyone even has noticeable symptoms when they are seroconverting. The average time to seroconversion is 22 days after an exposure to the virus. And the symptoms vary from high fever and other flu-like symptoms to so mild as to be unnoticeable. It may include a flat, non-itchy rash on the torso and legs and arms.

There's certainly nothing about your symptom(s) to suggest HIV is an issue. But then that's no surprise since you have not had a risky incident.

Resul,

If getting tested and collecting the inevitable negative result will help you deal with your unfounded fears about HIV then do it. Please note I'm not saying you need to test because you have HIV -- you don't.

Resul,

Please read this carefully.

You do not have HIV. You haven't done anything which could have infected you with HIV. You don't need to test and you won't test positive now or after 6 months.

I think it's time that you saw a mental health professional and got some help in dealing with your fears about this. We cannot provide you with that sort of support. It's time you moved on.

Once again, You do not have HIV.

Resul,

The results of this test, as with your others, will be negative. You don't have HIV.

Whatever is causing pain in your penis and your axilla (your armpit) will have nothing to do with your adenoids. Your adenoids are in your head.

But do try and find a more competent doctor.

Any body fluids that are infected with HIV (including blood) will dry out within seconds once outside the body rendering it harmless.

Title: Re: what is the truth?

Fingering is not a risk for HIV transmission. No one's ever been confirmed to have been infected in that manner and you aren't going to make history by becoming the first.

Period.

resul,

It's not a risk for hiv to rub or lick a woman anywhere on her body and it's not a risk for her to do the same to you. No risk. You've been coming here for nearly two and a half years. You should know this stuff by now.

Title: Re: what is the truth?
Post by: Andy Velez on March 31, 2012, 05:58:20 pm
Resul, the most important detail in your story is that you were wearing a condom while you were having intercourse. They provide very effective protection.

Having found blood on the condom and smearing some of it on your leg -- those are not risks for HIV transmission. The important thing is that your penis was covered during intercourse.

There's no need for testing nor for testing about this incident.

Title: Re: what is the truth?

No, that would not be a risk. HIV is a fragile virus, Resul. You are worrying needlessly. There is no risk in anything you have reported. Seeing blood maybe scary but it is not a risk in the manner you are worrying about.

Just get on with your life. Really.

Title: Re: what is the truth?

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child

You never done any of the above, NO RISK..
Title: Re: what is the truth?
Post by: Andy Velez on March 31, 2012, 11:04:19 pm
Are you listening? How much more clearly can we say you did not have a risk for HIV. And there is no need for testing.

Now stop the drama and get on with your life. Really.
Title: Re: what is the truth?
Post by: Ann on April 01, 2012, 04:51:10 am
resul,

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. For this reason, the blood you got on your leg presented no risk for hiv transmission.

In addition to the blood being outside the body, your skin - including the skin on your legs - is a very effective barrier against hiv. Hiv can only infect a very few, very specific types of cells and these cells are not found on the surface of your skin anywhere on your body.

The cells that hiv CAN infect are found in the lining of the anus, the vagina, the urethra (where pee and semen come out of your penis) and the inside of the foreskin in uncircumcised men. (The inside lining of the foreskin is the part of the foreskin that is hidden when the foreskin is folded over the tip of the penis.) This is why sexually speaking, the only proven risks for hiv infection are unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER THIS INCIDENT OF PROTECTED INTERCOURSE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ann

Yes, you would definitely have known if the condom failed. When that happens it's not about teeny tiny little holes. The hole thing gives way and is left looking like a hoop with fringe on your penis.

Stop worrying needlessly. Really.

And now I am going to warn you that if you continue to return with more questions about your non-risk incident you are going to find yourself getting a Time Out fromt he site for at least 28 days. You did not have a risk for HIV. Period.

Resul,

You've been coming here for nearly five years now. We have explained to you again and again what is and what is not a risk for hiv infection. It's about time you started applying what you've learned here to what happens in your life.

What is important is whether or not you use a condom for anal or vaginal intercourse. Whatever else happens does not matter. It really, really, REALLY is that simple!

Please read and re-read your entire thread. There's nothing more we can tell you. We're not here to hold your hand every time you have a sexual experience. As long as you use a condom, you are protected against hiv.

If you haven't already (after five years, you should have by now), read through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms correctly and with confidence. The Condoms Are A Girl's Best Friend link is particularly informative, and it is available in quite a few different languages. Get reading - the webpages linked to in my signature line and your entire thread as well.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE!!!

I am also going to warn you that if you continue to return here without any real cause for concern about HIV, you are going to find yourself either getting a Time Out or being banned from the site.

HIV is not your problem. Get professional help if you need it because we cannot provide that for you in this setting. Since you are planning to marry it would be a good step for your future life to get your problems sorted out with a professional.

I cannot believe that in the five years you've been a member here, that you do not yet know our rules. Absolutely NO excuse for that - but yet just the other day I had to delete a post you left in a thread where you are not permitted to post and now this morning I find you've been sending PMs to other members as well.

Not only have I removed your PM privilege, but I'm also giving you a LONG over-due time out.

Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.

Resul,

There are no symptoms you can point at and say "that's definitely being caused by primary hiv infection".

Neither symptoms nor even the lack of symptoms will ever tell you a single thing about your hiv status. ONLY testing will.

Many people who have herpes are plagued by herpes outbreaks when they're stressed. It isn't a sign of hiv infection.
