I booked it..

My friend and I are going to China in July.  We sat down at the computer Wed night and with a click of the mouse we have plane tickets.  We are sending money tomorrow to our tour company to set us up.  We're going to Beijing and the Great Wall, Xian and the terracotta warriors, Guilin limestone mountains and the river Li, the dragon's back terraced fields and Shanghai.  I don't quite have the financing pulled together for this, but that hasn't stopped me before.   ;D  We traveled this summer to Iceland and Amsterdam and got along really well.  Should be a blast.  I've even looked into ordering a gay guide to China.  Although Asian guys aren't really my cup of tea (pun intended), you never know what might tickle your chopstick.  With all my heavy heart over relationships and HIV, there is in fact one thing that lifts me high, travel.  I should also score lots of new bird species for my life list.  We're taking a Chinese conversation class starting Monday at the community college.  I'm pumped already!

I've been interested in traveling to China for many years, but I've never pursued it because of my meds.

I am so jealous!  I have wanted to go for many years. (Tried to get a job there 20 years ago). I also would like to do the "Return to VietNam" trip. It was such a beautiful country when we wern't blowing the hell out of it.

I went to Iceland this summer as well for 10 days.  Excellent trip.  Would love to go to China some day.  Though perhaps more to SE Asia.

Sorry Mr. Razorbill--I didn't mean to be a killjoy!
I was hoping you might know something about it...or someone else here.
I've been to Thailand and Viet Nam several times (Viet Nam just once, and only for 2 nights), and I've been looking at China for a good decade.  The restriction has always stopped me from considering it seriously.
I would really love to go someday.
