I agree with Ann that you were not at risk.

You've been coming here for quite a while, sometimes about unprotected sex and sometimes about non-risk events.

I'm beginning to wonder if you ought to give some thought to seeing a counselor about your sexual activities which have included putting yourself at risk. We can't help you with that in this setting. Perhaps talking with a professional in a safe setting would be a good way for you to sort out your thoughts about HIV specifically and your sexual activities in general. Just a thought...

Ann,
I do not believe it is an urban legend as much as one thinks. In fact a couple years ago an elementary student in an urban school district nearby ( no pun intended) brought his mother's diabetic needles to school ( mother being HIV+).  Innocently,  the child, playing doctor at the playground,  pricked 9-12 students with his mother's needle. The newspaper did claim that the children were in fact in need of HIV testing and other lab testing.

Andy,
my previous exposures merited HIV testing. However, I do believe I was proactive in my measure to NOT have unprotected anal sex with this known hiv+ partner. Have I learned? Absolutely! Always use condoms for anal sex except in a monogomous relationship.

Rooster,

Most newspaper reporters and even school officials don't know jack-shit about hiv transmission. We do.

The urban myth is that people have been infected this way. Not one person EVER has. NEVER.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

Rooster,

The whole idea of being infected with hiv from a needle lying around is an urban myth. Not one person has ever been infected this way and you are not going to be the first.

Rooster,

I stand by my statements. Perhaps YOU need to re-read them.

This is ridiculous. I'm giving you that Time Out you were warned about. Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.

Ann?? I believe your name is? I want to congratulate you on making a very poor decision. Rooster is my housemate. Though I have NO intended use for this website, I do want to state that you made our house a very unhappy place to live today by your quick and brash reaction. If you read your last two messages ..you will see that you made a typo in your message..which Mike was trying to tell you..but you carelessly banned him. In fact he dumped the guy he was dating today (who is hiv+) and wants nothing to do with him and made him leave our house.  I personally do not care if I am banned...but your rash reaction prior to editing your sentence ...'The urban myth is that people have been infected this way' ...TO...'the urban myth that people have NOT been infected this way'. He wanted to let you know that so OTHER forum users would not read it incorrectly....yet ....YOU wrote and copied it twice. Kudos to you.

But I do believe he misinterpreted what you were writing.  What you were trying to say is that it IS urban legend and his thinking was that you left the ' no' part out. I understood what you were saying...but he did not get it.

P.s.    to andy....I did speak with him about not going online to ask questions regarding risks..but to actually speak with someone in person. He agrees..and does apologize for any miscommunication the threads at the end read. My apologies to Ann the moderator for any miscommunication as well.

Jordan,

Gee, I'm glad we got that misunderstanding cleared up. ::)

I'm fully aware that you are not really a different person to "Rooster", but whatever, you're both banned.
