Thailand to Florida
« on: January 12, 2014, 12:05:45 am »
After 7 years in Thailand - my partner and I decided to move back to the States.  We moved to Florida 4 months ago.  It's been quite an interesting, challenging and somewhat stressful move as we basically left everything in Asia and arrived with only 4 suitcases in tow to start a new life here again :-).    Thanks to ADAP - and the fact that there was no waiting list at the time, I was able to get in the program in a timely manner.   I am self employed and my next task is to apply for the affordable health care (not sure if I am qualified) - my question is: if and when I have insurance what will happen to my ADAP assistance?    Will my insurance company (thru affordable health care) pay for my meds (isentress and intellence) and labs, etc?   I apologize if my questions sound silly - but I have been away for so long.

Thank you

Your local ASO (AIDS Service Organization) can probably help you wade through this (It can be a bit complicated).

More than likely you're eligible for some combination of ADAP and Insurance through the ACA.

Here's a good place to find services in your area:

Best of luck!!!
