special circumstances....

hello guys...i have read a few of the other threads on here and couldnt see one that reflects my circumstances, just wanted to ask a few questions if its ok.

i received unprotected oral 10 days ago from a guy and his gum bled during the act, getting some blood on my penis.

we immediately stopped (he appeared freaked out too) and i asked if he was clean, he said he was tested in feb and clean however i dont know him. trying to take some assurance from the fact that he was freaked out too!

i went to the ER a few hours later and they advised that the circumstances were super low risk, even if he was poz and didnt know it.

despite this, i am paranoid as hell and the stress is making me burn up making me feel like i am getting symptoms.

does anyone think i am at significant risk?

I am booked in for a test on Tuesday, I know its only just over two weeks but in the event it comes back clean it will make me sleep a bit easier until 6 weeks.

on one hand i keep telling myself the facts that nobody has received HIV from receiving oral and why would that guy freak out and say he was clean if he wasnt,,,

any wise words?

Using the word clean to describe a HIV negative individual is to infer that those of us with HIV are dirty ... so its very offensive to us that are living with HIV . 

You didn't have a risk but if you wish to test for peace of mind you can do so . Testing before 6 weeks doesn't tell you anything . There are no shortcuts to testing , so test at 6 weeks and again at 3 months to confirm it if you must .

Std's can be present without symptoms for long periods of time and are much more easily transmitted than HIV , so get your sexual health check ups .

Apology accepted  . Your saliva contains dozens of proteins and enzymes that wreak havoc on HIV rendering unable to infect .

There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.) These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex. Any kind of oral sex.

These studies yielded NO infections.

Phil, getting oral sex is one of the most common of sexual activities. In the entire history of the epidemic there has never been a confirmed case of transmission to a guy through getting a blowjob. It's safe to say that you are not about to make history by becoming the first.

Let it go and get on with your life. Sexual transmission of HIV is about unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. That's it. Use condoms consistently for those activities and you will be well protected.

I read your concerns and will reiterate what's been said , you did not have a risk .
