BBC in UK wants you...they got me and I need support!
« on: February 16, 2007, 09:20:17 pm »
The BBC team who did a well commented upon and researched programme on bi-polar, presented by stephen fry, are looking for people to talk about their experiences with HIV undisguised to camera. Filming in UK is at end of feb, they come across as genuine people who really want to put across a balanced and realistic programme. They are also filming in the US,Africa and elsewhere.
I've taken the step to take part in this, mostly because I don't feel I can justify moaning about my virus/treatment/stigmatisation if I'm not prepared to do something constructive. Dont get me wrong, I'm not a media tart, I'm absolutely PETRIFIED! Even if people just want to talk to the researchers/director/producer to input their point of view, its all gratefully and respectfully received. I'm NOT any part of the production team or benefitting in any way financially from this, just passing on contact details
This is my second post in a different forum at the suggestion of the guys I've talked to or messaged,so sorry if you've seen it before!
lindsey.douglas@bbc.co.uk is email contact, or call 01413383563 and speak to louise, the researcher, lindsey the producer or ross davies the director, by all means say you got details from this site, and my full name is joanna cole if you want to quote me!
I know i'm going to enjoy the party in the afterlife, but do you all mind that I'm going to be VERY late!!!
