Worried and not sure what to do
« on: December 25, 2006, 02:21:40 am »
Received a hand job recently from a masseuse.   Didn't think much of it at first, but have become increasingly concerned about the possibility of exposure to HIV or anything else for that matter. The masseuse used the same room for me as she did for the client that just finished minutes before.  My concern is the risk that if the previous client was HIV positive and that I somehow indirectly came into contact with his semen through the massues hand, wet towels or massage table. Again a few minutes passed before my session began, I don't recall feeling any wetness when I laid down on my stomach, but for some reason I'm paranoid that somehow my penis may have made contact with the previous clients semen. Note that it did seem that the masseuse did set up a new rather thin paper towel type cover over the beding for my session.  The masseuse massaged me for about 20 minutes before touching my penis, however did probe around my anus (no finger insertion) just minutes into the session. Do I need to be concerned?  Do I even need to be tested?

Thanks in advance

Please take the time to read the section on transmission. You will find that link along with others in the "Welcome" thread. You did not have a risk, nor do you need to test.

Listen to Rod and read that lesson. I'm glad you have voiced your concern because they reveal that you need to be better educated about the basics of transmission. This epidemic is going to be around for a longtime to come and ignorance about HIV is a luxury no one can afford.

You were not in any way at risk for HIV in that incident. The real issue as you will find in the lesson is about unprotected intercourse. Read the lesson and you'll get the whole deal.

Cheers,

Thanks for the replies, should I consider any other tests besides HIV? Is it feasible to catch any std/sti this way? If so, which ones? This is the only time I've gone outside my committed relationship in which I know we are both clean.

Woh, now I took a shower and I'm clean, but I do have advanced HIV disease. NO, you don't need to test for anything.
