One year on meds
« on: March 12, 2009, 10:04:05 am »
Hi All,
I am a long time reader and only occasional poster.  But I just wanted to share my results on meds after one year.

I started with a CD4 of about 225 and a VL of 250,000 +  (I guess they stop counting above that).   I started on Atripla for about 60 days and my VL went to undetectable within that time.  I switched because of sleep issues.  Now I'm taking Viramune and Truvada, both once a day.  Since then no sides at all.  I'm still a little fatigued from time to time, but that was the case before meds.  There are no side effects that I can directly attribute to the meds at all.  As a matter of fact I had to buy a pill box because I couldn't remember if I had taken my pills without it.

One year since starting and my labs came back;  CD4 435   VL still undetectable.

This website has been a great source of information and support.  I wanted to thank everyone who contributes here, this journey would have been much more difficult without this place.

To those reading this who are still sitting on the fence about meds, at least for me, it has been a breeze and the results speak for themselves.

Peace all, and Thanks.

Congratulations.
By the way, some labs in some countries certainly do measure viral loads much higher than 250,000.  Look at my signature!
Hope you continue your smooth sailing.

My boyfriend is on Atripla now for about a year and absolutely no side effects.  If you have problems there are plenty of other options.  Best of luck.

Thanks all for the positive feedback.

A wonderful and encouraging post.  I, too, had sleep issues with Atripla; since switching, everything has been fine.  Good messages to share with others.  So glad you (and your boyfriend) are doing well.

Best,
