Are my Oraquick results accurate?

I received  oral sex from a male partner of unknown HIV status about 10 weeks  ago.  I strongly believe that he had anothers semen in his mouth when I inserted.  When I realized that I pulled out, but I was inserted for a small period of time.

I have been so worried that I contacted HIV.  I did definitely get chlamydia and was treated for that.  At 10 weeks I took the Oraquick test and it came back negative.  I know they say 3 months, or 13 weeks, but do you believe that the 10 week window would provide accurate results?

There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.) These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex. Any kind of oral sex.

These studies yielded NO infections.

You did not have a risk in the situation you are concerned with . Your saliva contains dozens of proteins and enzymes that damage HIV and render it unable to infect . The fact that you did not have a risk and your negative HIV test results at 10 weeks you are reliably HIV negative providing you didn't have unprotected vaginal or anal sex in the past 3 months before your negative HIV test . 

Use condoms for vaginal and anal sex consistently and correctly and you will avoid HIV .

Thanks for the rapid reply and for setting my mind at ease.  Even if you get a negative test and you hear you weren't at risk,  you still worry.  I guess it is human nature.  I learned a valuable life lesson and won't every put myself in a situation where I feel there is risk again!

Everyone deserves a satisfying sex life , so arm yourself with the facts about safe sex and transmission routes and you will no longer fear doing what should come naturally .

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug injection equipment .
Unprotected vaginal or anal sex .
From mother to child during pregnancy or during childbirth .

Use condoms correctly for vaginal and anal sex and you will avoid HIV .

Just realized I probably didn't do the test right.  I inserted the stick in the tub and saw it was in backwards so I turned it around.  Their site indicates that if you remove the stick at all, even if immediately reinserting, that the results are invalid.   I'm in a panic.

The guy did have semen in his mouth from a previous partner or partners!

I am sorry you are continuing to be so concerned about what was a no-risk situation. HIV cannot remain viable in the mouth due to the deleterious effects of saliva. No matter how much semen your partner had in his mouth, he could absolutely NOT have transmitted HIV to you through isertive oral sex.
