WANTED: Positive Public Educators
« on: December 18, 2006, 11:19:11 pm »
Aids2Hiv is looking for positive people who are willing to actively educate thier communities with a brutally honest, accurate message of education and prevention. We are NOT looking for someone to hand out the government message.

Candidate must be able to speak publicly in thier geographical area. This is a Volunteer Position, aids2hiv.com does not employ anyone. We are a group of volunteers, who believe by speaking up, leading by example, and sharing our experience strengths and hopes, with our community that we can make more progress in both, the education and reducing the rate of infection, by providing accurate, pertinent information from prevention to awareness, testing to your personal experience of living with HIV. We soon will be drafting a network of volunteers, to help deliver our message. People, Schools, Churches, Etc will be able to login and through our network of volunteers, can submit to have a speaker at thier community functions, schools, etc. By this time next year i want to be able to provide atleast each state in the united states, as well, as anyone worldwide could login and and see we have a volunteer that is willing to talk to them and educate them, in thier area. Volunteers must be willing to "put thermselves out there" in thier communities, lining up thier own speaking engagements, etc.

This does not require you to dedicate yourselves to ME, this requires you dedicating yourself to educating your community. This also requires WILLINGNESS to learn, and willingness to share of yourself. We will be having regularly conferences within this group of members, to share each others experiences, and pointers, etc.

For those who actually do this already in thier own communities, know what i mean when i say "the pay is good"...in other words, you get to walk away from each talk knowing that you helped someone, possibly even saved a life from HIV. You will get to enjoy the acceptance gained through the real giving of self. And best of all.....someday our kids, can look back and say to the newbies then.......My parents started all this!!

When we reach that plateau, we will have changed the way society, worldwide, addresses the HIV issue. And if that is a passion of yours, send me an email at aids2hiv@www.aids2hiv.com and we will talk about it

I have to say I agree that the "government message" is way off track.    I'd also encourage others to get involved in some way because you are right.   It is very rewarding.   I've done a few things and even started up a discussion group as well.

I might be interested in this.   How do I find more details?

Thanks,

Wesley

Supporting You

Hey AIDS2HIV...

Is there a possibility for this to occur through a remote assistance?

What you are doing is important.

I am the executive director of The HIV/AIDS Speakers' Bureau based out of Washington state. Our service area includes the entire northwest and is looking to expand into Montana as well. We send out speakers to many different venues such as middle and high schools, health care training programs, colleges, universities, social groups, churches, juvenile and adult detention centers, and juvenile and adult drug/alcohol treatment programs and live-in centers. We keep very busy and are proud of our efforts to educate, raise awareness, and heighten compassion for all of us who are HIV+.

If you are looking for any additional information, please feel free to contact me at jbilove@earthlink.net. I will gladly help you and give you more background about what we do and how we do it.
