This has to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. The "intrepid reporter" seems genuinely terrified

This is hysterical. Wild turkeys enforce a "pecking order" (no pun intended) in the flock. If this turkey is surburbanized and accustomed to humans, he was probably trying to show the reporter who is boss. And I guess he did.

Wild turkey is quite tasty, by the way (the bird, not the liquor).

That lady is so pathetic and dumb.
Screaming "what can I do, I can't thow my camera at him.".
Maybe she should put her damn camera down and walk away and give the turkey it's space.

Yeah, that's when the giggles bloomed into genuine laughs. But her saying "Oh! Thank gawd there a mail truck" got a snort outta me, too.

I lost my drink and my shorts on this one, thank you very much! So stupid, and when she is in the car and the turkey pops up at the hood....really. Reminds me of the time I locked myself in the car.

And if a wild turkey run-in does this to her, just imagine what she'll be likve if she has a baby who gets a fever.

I mean, come on... who would actually be terrified of a turkey. Yea, they can peck at you but quite frankly, a good stiff kick (in self defense) would send the bird away rather quickly. Now, an ostrich may be different.

Years ago my partner and I were visiting a friend who owns an exotic animal farm. As we walked around the capybara pond there was a big swan that was following us in an aggressive posture with wings up and head down. I had lived and worked on the farm and warned my partner that the swan was not to be fooled with and that we needed to keep our distance. He seemed unconcerned and as we circumvented the pond he was pausing, squatting down to look at turtles, the swan getting ever closer. I warned him again very seriously that he needed to keep a distance from the swan. He responded sarcastically "oh, yeah, the killer swan." A few minutes later I hear "HELP!" and loud squawking. I turn to see my partner lying on his back in the mud like a turned over turtle, legs and arms flailing, with this swan on top of him, wings beating, head bobbing trying to strike his face. He managed to kick the swan off and took off running for the house.

He listens to me now when it comes to animals.

That is a funny story Ford. I learned by watching someone once that you never hold your finger up to a Parrot's face either. That was a bloody mess actually.

Birds in general sorta freak me out, but not anything like the vid I posted. Larger birds, especially, like swans and geese can be really aggressive, so I've only ever admired them from a distance. When I was a kid, loons' wails would terrify me; at the time they sounded like a woman screaming.

Remember that movie back in the 60s?? Hitchcock's 'The Birds'?? I was a kid when I saw that and of course could not take my eyes off of it. The gas station scene was traumatic for a little kid to watch.

Tippi Hendren nearly lost an eye making that movie. It's really not an appropriate film for kids, but everyone sees it for the first time when they're very young $:-\$

Oh totally: the humor of the vid is how completely disconnected her reaction is to any actual threat, especially when she gets in her car. One seriously well-planted kick and the bird would have totally run away.

I wonder if she "faked" it and leaked the footage in some exhibitionistic attempt to go viral, maybe ever become a meme

I don't watch TV, so I don't get the reference. But yeah: I think she's as bright at a bag of hair (to quote M_t_D).
