3-Years Ago Today (9/13/08)
« on: September 13, 2011, 10:13:58 am »
So, three years ago today, I got my + results -
So far it has been an interesting journey.

Just wanted to thank everyone on this site who have become a part of my life - those who have listened to my rants (dayummmm syphilis), been there when my dad passed away, congratulated me on new jobs and other achievements, and served as a source of support, comfort, and safety.

Thanks to the LTSs for being there.  Thanks to the those who joined about the same time I did.  Thanks to the newcomers.  And, thanks to the WW in the AM I Forum.

While today won't be celebrated with ice cream and cake - it will be celebrated in reflecting on those who were the brave one's who walked this path before me; who were willing to try different treatment regimens to advance progress and decrease side effects (while enduring their own side effects from these experiments); those who did not sit by silently - but who spoke up and spoke up loudly to make sure that services would be available and that people with HIV would have rights and access to care; and to those who had an idea to establish a site that has grown into Forums providing a wide range of information and support to those with or affected by HIV.

Thank you all -----  you have made these 3 years definitely tolerable and have enriched my life.

Hi phildinftlaudy,
it's been 3 years for me as well (diagnosed in September of 2008).
Somehow I don't want to remember this day, so no anniversary for me.  8)
These 3 years seem(ed) to last so long.  :D
I hope we will stay strong, and (relatively) healthy.
:) Hugs from Southern Europe, it's still unbearably hot here (30C/90F).

Thanks all -
Life is good.... I mean, it is what it is, and I believe it is what I make it -
Labs scheduled for tomorrow morning --- hopefully I will be going to every 4 months soon enough (Doc said she would consider every 6, as soon as triglycerides are right) but I would rather stick with every four... so we will see....

All is good --- I've been having a some pain in my calves the past couple of days and feeling a little out of sorts (but it could just be from the syphilis treatment or my neuropathy acting up ---- I was diagnosed with mild neuropathy about a year and a half ago, but it really hasn't been a bother, but, who knows, that's what it could be) ---- or..... maybe I'm just getting older   LOL (I have my 45th birthday next month).

I just know that overall I am happy with my life - the direction it is going - and the fact that I haven't let HIV take my life downward or me downward - but, have been finding more and more ways to make HIV a path to the next level in wherever my life progresses.

Thanks again for the words of support - as always, they are  appreciated.
