Now just one of the gang

Hello All
Well I am new to posting. But found out last Friday October 17, 2008 that I am HIV Positive. That night I was surfing the net and came across this site and have been perusing the posts ever since. I must say that I admire you all for the support you show each other, as well as for your frankness to the posts and issues that have been shared on the posts. I hope that I can fit into your group.

Now for the nitty gritty. As many of you, if not all, can guess by my nickname,I took and educated risk and active involvement in my conversion. That is not to say that I was "chasing". But at 31 years old, I knew the risks and hoped that my partners would be truthful about their status. I have always asked what their status was and it worked for 10 years. However ultimately I had met someone that was not truthful or did not fully know that they were HIV Positive. But I am not one to try to blame it on anyone, after all I, just as everyone knows about the possible consequences of barebacking. I am thankful that my husband, of 10 years, we have an open relationship, is understanding and has stated that this will not change how he feels about me. We live in Canada where we fags can get married LOL. He has even been trying as hard as he can and succeeding at convincing me that he still loves me  ;) he tested negative, as we always go in to get tested together.

I just wanted to introduce myself to the rest of you, and hope that you will forgive this newbie if I seem complacent in my newly acquired status. i have just been prepared to hear the news for a number of years and understand that my actions ultimately led to my diagnosis.
