CVS was screwing me because they own my Rx plan, but recently they sent me a letter saying that they overcharged me and it included a check for the overcharge. I was stunned and happily cashed it.

But that was just a little win for me. It's still a fuck-all for everyone who must consume Big Pharma's wares to survive.

I just got another letter about the mysterious $39,000 refund check I was sent from some mysterious entity two years ago asking why I'd never cashed it and if I needed a replacement.

Do you know how much tiramisu and how many hookers we could buy with that kind of cash? Because I've done the math...

I could never get anyone to properly explain why I received the check. There's a thread on here from when I first got it explaining the mayhem of phone calls. Even my case manager gave up on it. It's amazing that I got passed around with two companies and about five employees and none knew what they were talking about. I would love to cash it but as soon as I would do so they'd suddenly demand it back and I would be screwed.

At this point, I would cash it.  I mean, they keep telling you that it belongs to you.  I think most would think it really does belong to them, at this point.  Keep it in the bank.  I'm sure there must be a statute of limitations for demanding the money back.  Doesn't the government have a time limit, when they can demand money back?  I thought it was 10 years.  Maybe not.

It reminds me of the I love Lucy episode where she's at a casino in France or somewhere.  She places on the table a chip she found on the floor.  It wins.  She tries to tell them it isn't hers, and places her winnings back on the table.  It keeps winning.  She tries and tries to explain it doesn't belong to her.  She ends up taking the money, but has to keep it secret from Ricky.  As a 50's husband, he was her daddy and forbade her from gambling.  She hides the money in Fred's suitcase, and Ricky finds it and thinks Fred is stealing from the band.  Oh, the shenanigans.

Cash it. Put it an interest bearing account and enjoy the interest. Although arent you on ADAP?  Be careful about a large sum of money it might disqualify you.
