Lis Made Me Do it, and It WAS FUN!
« on: October 22, 2006, 12:29:00 pm »
Hi one and All,

The Inagural AIDS Walk was a smashing success with approximately 50 attendees and a very respectible volume in the donation jar.  The work seems to be maturing and we are just on the cusp of creating more, and much needed services for the clients here.  It just takes so very much time and patience.  Thank you all for lending the support necessary to keep us in the fight for stopping the spread of this disease.

Our event was up against not only Homecoming parade, game, and ball, but also the Bisbee Stair Climb, which is actually a very international event, and attended by many Europeans.  All in all, we had a smashing success and the day was made much more pleasant because of a very special woman, Lis, who flew here to attend her first ever AIDS Walk.  To read the very comprehensive article, please click here:  http://www.svherald.com/articles/2006/10/22/local_news/news8.txt

Thank you Jesus, wherever you are.

In Love.
Tim

It's just that they need more supervision.

Tim, you and Liz are such special people...  Talk about grassroots and getting something this important off the ground is grueling I am sure...  Hopefully this will go down in your book of things accomplished in life... Waiting on Pic's of you to!

Hi Tim,

I found Jesus, he was hiding behind the couch the whole time! :D

I'm happy you had such a good turn out, as I know you were a bit worried about that. Next year, maybe you can get the Homecoming King and Queen to walk!

You got a good write-up about it, which was good to see. Cool beans! ;)

In hope,
Ann

Excellent outcomes. People and Press. Congratulations to the two of you. The reporter wrote well and used the word "grief" twice, close together, and in way we typically don't use the word. It caused a natural reaction in this reader to slow down and think for a moment. I'm betting it caused the same in other readers, too. Clever writer. You two make an inspirational team. Thank you for sharing the story. Em

Tim,

I am glad to hear the walk was a success. Your tireless efforts to raise awareness, fight stigma & offer support to so many are truly an inspiration to me & many others living with HIV. Especially when you are having your own health issues to deal with.

Thank YOU for all that YOU do for so many.

Love & respect

Hi Tim, Lis,

Way to go !!! I knew this first walk was being scheduled, and I am glad that it all came together, and that it was a success. Next year will be bigger. I am impressed with the article in the paper. The St. Petersburg aids walk got no mention in the paper, and I kept trying to find it. Ed couldn't find any mention either, and I checked online also. We had over 1,500 in that walk with 90,000 dollars raised. I have no idea why there was no mention of it in the newspaper. That bothered me. Will have to change that next year !!!!

Hello Tim,

It is GOOD news to hear that the 1st Annual Aids Walk was a success! I love to hear GOOD news as it is very nourishing. From what I gather, you had an excellent turnout inspite of the other events that were going on. I trust that yourself and Lis enjoyed the event. A slide show of the event would be an excellent idea.

I wish you the BEST in all of your endeavors.

Make the BEST of each Day!

Hey Tim,

Congrats on the great first AIDS Walk! They are tough to pull off these days, but very worth it.

Sounds like a resounding success all around.
