Hi,
While on vacation in Hawaii, I got really drunk one night and ended up recieving unprotected oral from a philiphines transexal of unknown hiv status. This person claimed to be clean. I did not cum and it lasted about 2 minutes. After this occued, I noticed a red mark on the base of my penish which disapeared 3 days later. Could of been bruise from teeth perhaphs? Anyways, 4 days later I got a pain in the head of my penis and had a panic attack. I ended up in the hospital where they diagnosed me with with Urethritis in Men (unspecified) and anxiety. I took 2 doses of liquid azithromycin which has stopped this pain. I also had a swab and urine test done which they tested for std's which come back negative. I'm not sure what std I caught, but i'm convinced that I'm at high risk of HIV.
I've read here that it can't be passed via recieving oral sex (i did read the welcome thread) BUT can't help to think of the many other sources of medical sites that suggest HIV can be (but at very low risk) and that it will be HIGH RISK if this person has STD's. I'm in the biggest confusion of wheather or not I had got an STD but convinced I did since the antibiotics helped and that HIV was transmitted to me through the bacteria that hurt my penis.
In conclusion, I'm convinced i'm HIV positive and a very unlucky person but there is still some hope in the back of my mind of reading this website that i'm at low risk. I just hope the information on this site is more creditbal than these other medical sites.
Sorry if i'm not making much sense here, i'm very scared and the anxiety is cutting me to peices. I have a couple of questions and appreciate your thoughts and response:
a) There may not of been any known transmission via oral that's creditbal, but what about transmission via an oral STD? What is the chance of this occuring?
b) I'm having trouble dealing with the wait of the 5-6 week test. Any suggestions to help get this off my mind? I am starting a new position with work on monday and all I can think about is this mistake & risk i've put myself in.
c) I will follow up with the 3 month test, but how reliable is the 5-6 week test?

I will also add that this happened 2 weeks ago and since then, my symptons are tiredness, blurry vision and sore eyes, burning pains in my skin, and anxiety. I pray to God for hope!

If you're convinced, why bother writing in to us?
The fact is, getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection. Never has been, never will be and sorry, but you'll have to obtain your fifteen minutes of fame some other way. You are NOT going to be the first to be infected from getting your penis sucked.
NSU is not necessarily a sexually transmitted infection. It's something even virgins can get.
Although you don't need to be tested for hiv over this blowjob, the vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days. However, when there has actually been a risk (you haven't had a risk) a negative six week result must be confirmed at the three month point.
If you want to test, as long as it is three months after your last incident of UNPROTECTED INTERCOURSE, it will be conclusive.
You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.
Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

PS - symptoms, or even the LACK of symptoms, means diddly-squat when it comes to hiv infection. Only testing will reliably reveal your hiv status. Whatever symptoms you are experiencing will not be from becoming infected with hiv during a blowjob - because infection doesn't happen that way.

If you scour the net long enough, you can always find all sorts of stories like this- bordering on what one would call tales of immaculate infection, just this side of the old "i got it from a toilet seat" kind of story. Note that even in the dialogue you quoted, they say that they can't comment on the veracity of the reports.
In other words....malarkey.
You find this kind of thing because of (1.) people that aren't very truthful about the activities they have engaged in, and (2.) websites that are more concerned about covering their asses legally than it being uncompromisingly honest about HIV transmission.
You don't get HIV from getting head. End of story.

This is a clinic that deals with STDs and HIV every day. The doctor will tell you the same thing Ann has told you.

The excerpts you quote from that article are about receptive oral sex. Receptive means you're the one with a penis in your mouth. Getting a blowjob is insertive oral sex.
Even receptive oral sex is theoretical at best, for the reasons others have stated.
Getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection.
