Isnt disclosure a very personal thing for us?  Dont we talk about how it is one's OWN business how and when and where this is done?  I guess I just don't understand why Eldon is being called out on this.  He certainly has always seemed well intentioned to me and I guess that is all I look at.  I dont care what his numbers are or where he lives or what dr he sees or if he ever wants to communicate to me at all.

This thread is very disturbing to me, and maybe I am TOTALLY missing something here.  I just dont think anyone should be called out like this.

I am not defending or supporting anyone with this post, just asking why it needed to happen?

Thanks woodshere, I really do appreciate the reality check and in the future I'll ignore replies that are offensive.  But consider this, if there's a stuffed stocking hanging on the mantle on Christmas morning with my name on it and when I look in it's full of coal, well, I'm going to say something to Santa.  Darin

you know how to find Santa?

ACinCK,

No, but I'm pretty sure he's not living upstate New York.  Or here in S.F. for that matter.  I guess I could lay out a trail of cookies and milk and wait to see who shows up...

Eldon,

Here's what you posted on my 'Lost My Immunity to Measles Post':

"Thank God I have never had to deal with the measles. You may want to go to this link and read up on some information regarding this topic: http://www.aidsmeds.com/news/20020415clin011.html. This should assist you with some questions."

You accuse me of being oversensitive and that you didn't mean to be offensive, you were just trying to be nice.  I would never in any way, shape or form express joy to somebody with a disability or a medical condition that I was glad that I wasn't facing what they had to.  Nice people think before they speak, write and act.  Darin

No offense but if you DID take offense to this you are being over sensitive.  I dont find that statement to be malicious at all.  It says to me... WOW that sucks ass, im glad i dont have to go through that but am sorry that you do have to go through it here is some information that may help you.  Pretty straight forward, I think.

Im not attacking you, and not defending Eldon.  Just so everyone knows.  I dont generally take sides in the Living with section...

He also posted this about 1 minute AFTER he responded to you, which leads me to believe he has this ready  to copy and paste to all new members.....

Also,

I wish to extend to you a warm WELCOME here at the forums. Here you will find the encouragement, communication, understanding, support, some cries, some laughter, and many of your questions relating to HIV/AIDS answered.

And what i get from that, is a healthy diet is good for you.  Is a healthy diet not good for you?  Wow, I can NOT believe I am getting myself into this... i try to stay out of pissing matches as a rule, but thats generally cause my penis is so big it scares everyone!!!!

OK I read (some/most) of the SAD thread... Now I see both sides.  And I can see both agruements.  So, i can see where you are coming from sfscruff but I also think it got a bit mean spirited by EVERYONE.  And I added to that and for that im sorry.

To Moffie I say, stick around for the very reason you made me read 3 threads which I normally wouldnt have and found knowledge I didnt have before.

To Eldon I say, do what you want and post what you want I so far have found nothing that really indicates to me that you are subverting anything  but rather just offering your suggestions and what you have found that has worked in your life.

To ScScruff I say, Welcome to our dysfunctional family!  Seeing that you have been living with our lovely virus for the better part of 3 decades I am interested to read more about you and what your outlook on the world around us is.

To those who read all my posts in consecutive order I say.... AINT A.D.D. a fuckin BITCH!!!!!

ACinKC,

Ah ha, I guess I've laid out a trail of cookies and milk for you, and now the trap!  Tee, hee, hee.  See, I'm mischievous, not malicious.  My motivation is really that I'm so friggin' tired of having to see those goofy shaking hands.  He stuck that on my posting and I have had to scroll by it way too many times.

As far as respecting people's privacy I couldn't agree with you more.  However, when somebody relates their personal experience and then encourages us to listen to them and change our lives per their recommendations, well, then in order to see if what they're say is valid, numbers and a brief case history might be a little more convincing.

Thanks for your posting, you've got me intrigued...

I am new to this forum.  I am quite taken aback with what I have read here.  I came here for support and information...and to make some friends.  I hope that what I've seen in this thread is not "business as usual".  This should be a place where everyone feels safe...none of us is perfect and none of us knows all the answers.  However, all of us should be in a safe place when we come here.  If we don't give a damn about each other, then we are truly in trouble, because very few outsiders give a damn about us.

Whoo- Lordy Mercy!  How did I miss all of this action until just now?  Never mind- I know:  I've been too busy stitching my way through the porn threads.  Who woulda ever thunk that Eldon- ELDON, no less- woulda ever been caught up in such heated discourse.  This is a curious thread...it seems to have started out with pure intentions, but got a bit prickly along the way.  Seems like some sentiments just got lost in translation.

My only other statement on here will be:  I don't wanna see anyone go from here...unless their health and happiness have gone so far into fabulous that they just don't have the time.  That goes for Eldon, for Moffie...the whole dang bunch of ya.  I do confess, though,  that I am also waiting eagerly to find out more about the E-Man.  How does one remain that chipper, anyway?  I usually have to pull a "Queen A" to reach that plateau.  (heeheehee...sorry, girl.  you know I love ya!)

rayvjr, I've discovered that quite a few outsiders do give a damn about us.  I've also discovered that quite a few of 'us' don't give a damn about 'us' or outsiders.  Are generalizations the proper way to view the world around us?  Darin

ACinKC; you have been around but not long enough to know of the thread with regards to the shady fund raising and subsequent questions of 2 accounts that Eldon had, these questions were put forward by Tim Horn.
The last time i had asked Eldon for explanations to these , i was accussed of starting a flame war as during this time, Zephry was trying to raise funds for her LTNP programme, she ended up taking all the heat. Now she give Eldon my private e-mail address, which he used here on the AM , the name on that account is different from what i use here, that is really a bleach of trust !!  I had stayed away from here for awhile, on that day, i remembered ERIC saying, no matter how , all these are on records. For anyone interested, they can always look it up.

WHEN THE RED RIDING HOOD COMES OFF, IS IT A YOUNG INNOCENT GIRL OR A WOLF ???

PS: Moffie thank you so much for providing this opportunity for me to get this off my chest.

OK so your mad at Eldon?

I am saying from MY experience he's ok.  not stellar, not horrible just kinda blah!  No offense eldon!  I always thought you might be some Dungeons and Dragons kind of roleplaying Dutch guy.  I never would have guess you were American and that english was your first language!

Thomas,

If you recall, I did not start this, and I will call it what it is, BULLSHIT. Moffie did and you and a few other jumped on the bandwagon. My whole point to this was that all this drama could have been avoided by a sending a PM, even some of the things you said was made to be mean. I will call a spade a spade and I don't need balls to speak.

Many of people post what their beliefs are in certain situations but I don't see you or Moffie posting like you have with Eldon's post. If Eldon chooses to go with positivity to make it thru his hiv life, so be it, who are you or Moffie to judge him for it. Give people credit to make up their own minds and make their own choices. Because Eldon chooses not to take meds, it is his choice, doesn't mean the whole forum is gonna stop taking their meds and follow Eldon.

Now Moffie wants to take the back seat because a few of us has called him on his meaness, his choice. But it's funny because since we have called him on it, now we are wrong? We are HIV lite because we don't have the impressive years of rallying for AIDS or because we haven't challenged some important people or simply because we choose not to get a gun and blow our heads off because we are poz. C'mon...

Yes, you have a right to ask Eldon questions about meds etc but if he chooses not to answer them he has to be a quack or a fraud. Get a grip! Btw, I wear a 7 1/2 in men's sneakers...I am proud to be A Cowboys fan and has never like a whiney quarterback such as Marino.

I am finished with this topic of Eldon and his belief system or Moffie knows it all and we are just here to cater to him....

Now what is pulling a Queen A? I'm just curious.....Is it me handing someone their balls back to them? Or suggesting they may have a split like me? I think it's cute..... ;)

I understand what rayvjr is saying above and think he makes a good point.  Calling him out about 'making generalizatons' is side-stepping his point.  His point (correct me if I am wrong, rayvjr) is that we seem to be getting rather hostile towards one another on a very personal level, and that this forum should be a refuge from that because there is already plenty of hostility to be found for us in the world outside of these forums.

And I think that is something that everyone from Eldon to Moffie would agree on.

And "pulling a Queen A"?  I should have clarified...I just meant firing up a blunt.  I've usually never found Eldon's level of sustained positivity without a little help from my friend....yoga and meditation have somehow fallen short.

Hell's Bells!

I'm locking this thread up.  I mean, come on people... for all the nonsense that has gone down in the Forums as of recent -- all the name calling, vitriol, and bitterness -- I'm surprised that such a benign issue would result in such a long-winded thread of bickering.
