Watched American Idol

last night. My wife made me. Its the first time I have watched anything but the finals of the show. WTF is wrong with these people? Are they all on acid or are they just braindead? Is it all an act? It was sad watching the judges make fun of people who obviously weren't well equipped. 99% of the contestants had to be either,excuse the term,fucking retarded or acting like they were. No one I saw last night should be allowed to vote or have children. This country is in big trouble.

I had this same conversation with a friend last night Jack.  Do these people seriously think they can sing?   Some are SO BAD, it is pathetic.   Then, when told how awful they are, they cry and yell and curse, and act as if their whole future is ruined because of the mean old judges.

What kind of kids are we raising?   What happened to just try to work hard, do the best you can, get an education and make something of yourself?   They think their ONLY hope is to become an overnight sensation.   I suppose it's due to constantly being bombarded by the media with CELEBRITIES.   It's like your life is not worth living unless you are a CELEBRITY.    What a bunch of baloney.

Of course, the first few shows of A.I. are these 'bad tryouts' crap....I hate this part.   You know good and well the three judges are not seeing all those thousands of contestants, they must be screened by others.   So why did they get by the others and make it to the judges?  Only for "shock value", for us to see how bad they truly are.   It's sort of like the show is exploiting the naivete and lack of intelligence of the kids.    I guess that's show business.

Give the show a chance Jack, it will get really good, once they narrow the field down and get the finalists picked.   I've watched it every year so far.

LOVE this show.  And yes THOUSANDS are screened before they get to go in and see the judges.  But you have to figure they KNOW they are bad right?  I mean CMON!  I personally am offended by them exploiting some of these poor people but hey, its been on for 6 FUCKING YEARS or more, so they SHOULD know whats coming!!!  If you arent winning karaoke competitions on a regular basis then expect to get hammered, if you show up lookin like a CHUMP in an APOLLO CREED outfit, EXPECT to get hammered.  If you cant even sing the monotoned Johnny Cash, expect to get hammered.

As for who is to blame for this... their friends and family for encouraging the really bad ones!!  A true TRUE friend would say "Look fool, you cant sing a fuckin lick! If you want 15 seconds of fame and make an ass out of yourself GO FOR IT, but dont expect to be goin to HOLLYWOOD!"

the one moron had his parents encouraging him! the guy who they had come back and do the Abba song. That was funny,but I kept catching myself,asking myself why am I laughing at these poor imbeciles? The are either acting or are mentally challenged. Its like seeing a person with a deformed body part and laughing.
How about the two people who were voice coaches or teachers? Please tell me they arent really teaching our kids.
Made the people of Minnesota look like knuckleheads totally out of touch with reality. Maybe I should start drinking again.
