I am going crazy it's been the worst year of my life i have been married twice 3 sexual partners in my life my wife left me early this year for another man it crushed me 6 weeks ago i got drunk and put an ad on craigslist to perform oral sex with ejaculation in my mouth 9 guys answered once the acohol wore off i realized what i had done i panicked i read about pep went to emergency room and they prescribed it for me i didn't take it till 70 hours after first exposure i started having muscle pain around the second day of pep and had it the whole time i had a 3 week dna pcr test during pep and a fourth generation test on last day of pep  negative it's been 10 days since I was off pep i have been having neurological symptoms and muscle ache and joint pain itchy skin today my tongue hurt and i went to emergency room the doctor diagnosed with oral thrush I am so depressed please someone help me

You need to relax … Only unprotected anal and vaginal sex have been proven a risk for HIV so if this is you're only concern I would expect a negative result. PEP is not indicated in cases where oral sex is the only concern. If you test do so for peace of mind only.

There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.) These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex. Any kind of oral sex.
Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI.Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you jeff but what about the oral thrush and have you seen a pep failure

PEP has an excellent record at preventing infections, but you didn't need it, as you never had a risk.  Thrush is caused by a fungus, not a virus like HIV.  You are worrying needlessly as you never had a risk and you do not have HIV.  Keep working with your doctor to cure the thrush.  HIV is not your problem at all.
