Straight realities too
« on: September 27, 2013, 01:05:42 am »
As I was over at my new place doing yet more major cleaning, the neighbor walked over.  I've known and interacted with him most of my life.  His dad originally owned this entire block.

Of course, we got to talking about old times.  We discussed all the people we know who have died.  We had a fantastic conversation.  I kinda left all my straight friends curbside when I decided to be honest.  I didn't realize many of them truly cared enough to not care.

Bernie made such a poignant comment that I have never considered before.  AIDS affected those who weren't gay.  I had never thought about that.  We all lost the same friends, suffered shared heartaches and tried to fathom it all.

So many of our group of friends spiraled into drug abuse, and just never seemed to recover.  We saw many of them die way too young also.
Being honest is not wronging others, continuing the dishonesty is.

I guess that's what happens when lines are drawn and groups made. All the illness trauma with friends and family at the moment is non - HIV , this house is creating poignant moments for you Wolfie . There is no way even if I wanted to move back to my home village, the cheapest property is $500000 at least , two off the houses have heliports.
