My Teeth Are Disintegrating!
« on: March 22, 2011, 11:46:53 pm »
So I've never had much trouble with my teeth aside form childhood cavities.  Last week I noticed one of my front teeth felt rough, when I went to my dentist he said the enamel had eroded and the dentin was exposed.  >:(

I'd always dismissed the talk of meds causing teeth damage as alarmist, now I'm not so sure what to believe.

So sorry to hear that!

What did the dentist say? Are there any measures you can take?

I've had the same thing happen to me in the past year a few of my teeth on the top the enamel had eroded. I get my dental care thru Ryan White and my dentist fixed those teeth right up and put some kind of white material over the exposed area the feels just like enamel. Not sure why your dentist didnt recommend the same thing.

Do u suffer from dry mouth alot b/c this can cause enamel erosion. If so u can start chewing gum or just drinking more water to keep ur mouth hydrated.

Yikes, is this really one of those aging things nobody warns you about?  I guess my grandmother was right when she always said "its hell to get old".

Hi Trojanpony,

Welcome to the forum. This is a really old zombie thread from 2011 and most of the posters in this thread are not in a position to reply to you.

Look personally speaking i'm not seeing any connection here, anyhow as its a zombie thread and the vast majority of the posters are not here to reply i am locking the thread.

As a new member perhaps instead you can introduce yourself to the current forum members by opening a new topic and giving some background on yourself. Are you living with HIV and how are you getting on, what treatment are you currently taking? etc etc

Take it easy

Jim
