Really Worried
« on: February 15, 2015, 10:46:56 pm »
Hi Jeff,

I was on vacation in Thailand from 29/012/2014 to 05/01/2015. Had sexual encounters with few women. As far as i clearly remember i used condom for all vaginal sex. however i had unprotected oral sex both giving and receiving.

After the first two encounters itself i Felt sick and was feeling feverish and when i used to pee my urine used to be very dark in color. This was while i was still on vacation. I started taking anibiotics to get rid of the sore throat and fever. this dark urine however lasted for 2 weeks even after i came back from my vacation.

In one particular incident the girl was about to start her period because because i noticed blood on the tip of the condom. to make sure i removed the condom carefully and filled it with water to check if the condom was broken and the condom was intact.

After 3 weeks i started getting chills, sore throat. went to the doc he gave me some medications. |While taking the medications i started getting loose stools.

I went back to the doc again complaining the sore throat comes and goes and i am still having loose motions. He changed the medication. Seemed to work fine for two days, but now again the loose stools continue and even sore throat also.

i am really worried now. See i live in a country where if tested positive they will deport me back to my home country and there is no way i want to take the test here.

As for what i see my symptoms i have gastroenteritis, because of all the rumbling noise in my stomach and the loose stools.

but my concern is why the sore throat keeps coming back and with this loose stools it is really making me worried.

i am pretty sure i had intercourse with condom all the time.

Wanted your expert insights on this...

Oral sex and protected sex are not risks for infection.

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth.
Very specific health care situations.

Use condoms for vaginal and anal sex consistently and correctly and you will avoid HIV infection, it is that simple.

Your symptoms are in no way specific to HIV and could be from anything . You did not have a risk in this incident so if this is your only concern your test will be negative .
