Home Again
« on: September 19, 2007, 02:23:33 pm »
Hi everyone.

I made it home, safe and sound.   Arrived in Birmingham at 11:15 last night, then had to wait for the shuttle to get me to my car, then another hour drive to get to my place.

I am too tired, and my heart is too full right now to try to say anything meaningful, but I want to thank you all for making this such a wonderful experience for me.   Special thanks to the Grants Committee, the generous donors, especially Jody -- if not for you, I would not have been able to come.

Thanks to Dennis for doing a wonderful job as this year's coordinator.

Thank you Allan, for being a great ambassador!

Jan, the memorial service was absolutely perfect.   You did a fantastic job.   Our memorial service was the highlight of the Montreal AMG for me, and our ceremony in the AIDS Memorial Grove was the highlight from San Francisco.

Thank you Robert, for driving us around S.F. and being a wonderful host and tour guide.

Thank you Mark for sticking with me, and keeping me "on my feet".   I don't think I've ever walked so much in my life, and I couldn't have made it without you.

Love to all,
Alan

So glad you made it back safe and sound.  I was thinking about you as I got on the plane last night at 11:00 SF time.  I got back at 10 am this morning and took an extended nap.  Thankfully I am off work for the rest of the week.

It was wonderful to see you again.
