make sure you take with a 400 calorie meal.  I've had 2 side effects, which didn't start right away.  The first was insomnia and the second was a change in mood which made me very quick to anger.  They both hit me in the end of the second week, into the third.  But for me, both resolved in about a week to 10 days after they started.  Hang in there, the nerves about taking the first pill I think are the worst.  Relax and things will be OK.

Its natural to be nervous.   These threads are filled with hundreds of posts of people nervous about that first day of taking their medication (myself included).  99%+ of the time its followed a few days later with "its not that bad.". You will be OK.

If you do have any weird side effects the first day, keep in mind often times it takes a little while (couple days or weeks) to get used to the meds and side effects to go away.

Don't be fancy, just get dancey

Chances are, you will find that you are way over anxious about it. I know I was. The dizziness spells at first was the only thing that affected me. They didn't last but they sucked when I was driving down the road pulling a trailer. I would simply pull over, wait for it to pass then continue on my way. You can find out the exact details of what I have/am going through by looking at my thread. It is the beginning of a story I plan on telling at some point of my journey through all of this. It seems that the rage/temper thing is pretty common. I would suggest preparing for it ahead of time.

Should I take it before bed? Or should I take it when I have dinner?

Ok. But overall, the side effects are not as bad as Atripla, right?

Hey regul8er80:

I hope you have a good experience! I'm on Atripla, and the first night was a doozy! The second night was 90% better, and from then on out, it's been smooth sailing :D

Glad to hear that you're on the new drug! Keep us updated about your experience with it so far since it's a new drug.

Hi csguy

I can honestly say that I'm having no side effects at all. It's like I'm taking an antibiotic everyday. I'm also sleeping like a baby at night. This is my third day on it and I feel more energetic and I feel more at ease. I also switched to morning doses since its working so good. I took my first pill this morning and I feel awesome. I am truly truly lucky.

Remember that this medication will save your life. It's very normal to feel anxious the first day (God knows I was ) but by the second day, you get less anxious. This morning when I swallowed my third pill, I was at peace. After an hour, I forgot I had taken it.

Medications works differently with everyone. Just make sure that when and if you do get any side effects at all, tell yourself that it's normal and fhat you will get through it.

I don't think I am getting angry any quicker now than I was pre-Complera.  The mood issue has really seemed to resolve, which I am so glad about.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Another quick q: Does it feel you are on an antibiotic while on the medication? Or do you have as much energy and you prior being + almost as if life is back to normal( feeling wise) not lifestyle wise?

What did you mean by 'does it feel like you're on an antibiotic'? When I take antibiotics, I don't feel anything lol. What I meant was: When I take Complera, I feel nothing.

And yes, before I started my medication, I always felt tired, fatigued. And now that I started my medication, I feel more energetic. I feel great  :D
