Title: lower Cd4 count along with high neutriphil count
Post by: jfmanni on November 07, 2006, 07:37:44 pm
hey folks! i haven't had a chance to talk with my doctor about my latest lab results. does anyone see a corelation between a lower T-cell count and a VERY high (11,540) neutrophil count...along with a higher WBC (14.3)? i'm REALLY getting tired of "psyching" myself up for assumed "good" news from these labs and getting the results to get depressed about them. it's almost to the point of wishing it was all over just so i wouldn't be on this constant rollercoaster ride....hope i don't depress anyone...just tired of it all!

thanks

Sounds like you have an infection other than HIV. With HIV the neutriphil count drops. Stress can cause an increase in the neutriphil count along with an infection. A high WBC also is an indication of infections. You don't have the flu do you?

No--doesn't sound like a correlation.  WBC count raises in many things such as stress, infection, etc.  A high percentage of neutrophils would be more consistent with a bacterial infection or some sort of inflammation.  This is probably something unrelated to HIV that you have.
