2nd round of Labs - Good News
« on: July 23, 2013, 11:21:44 am »
Friends,

I just came from my appointment with my ID Doc.  So my second round of labs came back and i got some pretty darn good news.  Drum roll please.....

CD4 went from 384 to 664 and Vl went down from 500K to 100 all within a 2 month period of being on Stribild.

I am so happy... I think I will treat myself to a beer and some hot wings :)  (yea it is the small things that make me happy).  I hope that when I go back in Sept I will have even better news to share!

05-17-13 - Diagnosed/ Westerblot
06-03-13 - VL=500,193 / CD4 384
06-03-13 - Gnome - no resistance
06-05-13 - Start Stribild
07-23-13 - VL = 100 / CD4 664
10-14-13 - VL = 40 / CD4 592
01-03-14 - VL = UD /CD4 784

Thank you Andy!!  It's amazing to me what we have accomplished in the last 50 years in terms of safe treatments.

CONGRATS! Also just had my 6 week round of testing after being on Stribild. My original counts were CD4 254 / 71,000 VL. I'm not at 394 CD4 / 20!!!!! VL. Been having little to no side effects with this drug, but it is the one and only HIV med I have been on. Start taking around 6/1/2013. Happy to hear your results and to see all the encouraging comments on here... makes all the difference when you are having a bad day!

@poz13mn - Congrats also!!  yes my infection and diagnosis is fairly recent and I did start Stribild pretty quick and I really had no side effects at all. I actually feel great and look great (so says my doc).  Of course my only slight complaint is the $7K+ prescription cost for 90 days worth.
