Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Dear People,

2 Weeks ago, when I was really drunk, i decided to go to a prostitute for the first time. I went together with a friend. When we got there, he started to have sex with her. Than i decided i didnt wanted to join them, and so she asked me if i could massage her back while she was doing him. She started suck him off and asked me to touch her vagina. I actually did this. I rubbed between her lips and rubbed her clitoris. I definitaly felt some vaginal fluids on my hands. Then i decided to leave so I left. While i was walking away i remembered my cat scratched my hand that day. The wound/cut was open. It did not bleed but it was definitaly sensitive and it looked pink. I'm really affraid i've catched HIV that day. It has been 2 weeks ago, and I feel quite sick. I've got fever, muscle pain, pain in my throat and one big lymph node on my jaw. How big is the risk i've been exposed to? Stress is killing me...

I hope someone can help me with my questions. My excuses for my bad English but i'm not a native speaker. Thanks in advance...

At no time were you ever at risk of contracting HIV from fingering. Wound or no wound.

Could you explain your answer please? Vagina fluid does contain HIV, doesnt it? Why would it be impossible to get infected this way? Can't the fluid with HIV get in my bloodstream this way? I hope you can help!

These cells are found in your urethra (where you pee/cum from) and the inner lining of the foreskin (the bit that's hidden when the foreskin is folded over the head of the penis). They are not found in superficial cuts or cuts that are a few hours old.

Fingering, despite the presence of cuts, is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has EVER been infected this way and you won't be the first.

You did NOT have a risk and you don't need to test over what you've brought to us.

so this goes for the person who fingers and the person who gets fingered? I'm making up from your post that the person who gets fingered by a finger with a cut is not exposed to risk. But the person who fingers? Does this also apply for him?

I've found this on the website acwn.org.

"The chances of becoming infected with HIV by handling a body fluid are extremely small, because that fluid will rarely have access to a person's bloodstream. However, anyone handling blood, semen or vaginal fluids should be careful to avoid touching them with broken skin or getting them into mucous membranes (such as those around the eye)."

So this means I was exposed to some risk doesn't it? I mean I just want to be sure. I have been very ill like I´ve tod in my first post, and now I have red rash on my breast.

Take your rash to a doctor. It's nothing to do with hiv.
