I do to a WHAT?
« on: November 25, 2009, 05:53:42 am »
I will be the first one to admit that stupid people do stupid things.  I'll even admit that on occasion, very intelligent people do really stupid things.  But, this has got to be one for the books.  This morning I read an article (and watched a YouTube clip) of a man marrying a video charactor.  They had a ceremony, "she" walked down the eisle - actually "she" was carried down on a froo-froo pillow.  They even showed a video of how they met and spent time together.

The ceremony was attended by his friends (?) and family (!) who cheered ( ???) after the "I do's".  It was all followed up by a swanky reception complete with a DJ - wonder what was in the punch?

I have never played a Sim game in my life, but come one, I mean, the things do have limits on what they can do...don't they?

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Here, let me help:

http://www.tressugar.com/6375209

Only in Japan that's not new really.. I think there's an article recently in the NYT about these objectum sexual, mainly men, including one who "dates" an animation character printed on a life-size pillow. They will go to see movies, hang out in coffee shops, have romantic dinners, etc.

Actually not a bad idea for some of us though.. ;)

Good Morning,

The easiest way I know is to go to the address window at the top of your page, click on the text (until it turns dark) OR wipe your cursor over the complete address (from left to right) then right click (on your mouse or track surface,  and choose Copy then  re-enter your previous post, or a new post, and right click on the mouse Paste, which I just did with this reply

 http://forums.poz.com/index.php?action=post;topic=30044.0;num_replies=2

If you try it, you'll find it's easy.

Em

Komnaes made it super-easy! He posted while I was inputting instructions.

That's oddly interesting.  Someone marrying a video character?  I don't understand how someone can fall in love, much less "marry" a virtual character.....but then again, what do I know.  I only recently learned how to post a picture in the forum and I was thrilled just to do that!

I don't know about a 'virtual' character, but there's been a character or two (or seven or eight...) on videos over the years that I wouldn't mind dating...  I'm sure hubby wouldn't mind!

Here's the problem I have with this.  With disclosure laws being what they are how can I be sure my animated wife will admit that I did indeed disclose to her?  Do they have a disclosure tab in the Sims game?  And how do I protect myself against any computer viruses she might pass on to me?  I also wonder what the possibility is that the computer virus and the HIV virus could somehow mutate into some kind of super duper microsoft 2k HIV bug...  this is the beginning of some bad stuff and just remember Skeebo was on top of this Thanksgiving 2009...

  No thanks!

Somehow this all makes perfect sense to me ;)

Maybe its because most of my previous relationships lacked depth and were a bit two dimensional.  Ok--couldn't help myself ;D

Thanks for the link, Komnaes.

It's just too weird. Like someone said in the comment section for that article... "Gay marriage is still illegal in many countries around the world. But this is OK?" Nowt queer as folk, eh? ::)

Didn't Bob Hoskins character Eddie Valiant in "Who framed Roger Rabbit" fall in love with a cartoon Veronica lake lookalike called Jessica Rabbit..From the movie:

Eddie Valiant: You don't know how hard it is being a man looking at a woman looking the way you do.
Jessica Rabbit: I can't help it. I'm just drawn that way... ;D
