Scross,

Your ten week negative is NOT going to change. Go get your butt looked at by a doctor and quit trying to diagnose yourself.

Whatever is going on has NOTHING to do with a virus you do not have.

Ann

A negative result is always a happy thing. And not unexpected here in your case.

Hi scross,

Are you in the SoCal area? There are clinical trials here with a new HIV test that is much more sensitive to HIV in which you would not need to wait for the three month window period. In fact I beleive the window period would be about 10 days with this new test. The research is being done by California State University, Long Beach. It's a very easy process and doesn't cost anything because you would be part of the research group. Google CBRS CSULB for more info.

Poz, the rule of this site as stated in the opening section of this Forum is that only those who are authorized to do so may respond to other members. You do not have that authorization so please don't do it again.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Oops! I'm super new to this forum. I still don't fully understand the rules I guess. I will review the forum rules/etiquette.
Thanks.

12 week test: negative

I'm planning to have a final 13 week STD panel performed. It fortunately doesn't look like HIV is causing my symptoms, so I guess my doctor has some detective work to do...

scross,

It doesn't just "look like" hiv is not causing your symptoms - it's a fact. You are conclusively hiv negative and do not need further hiv testing at this time.

You do not have hiv. End of story.

Hey Ann & Andy-
Yesterday, I went for what I hope to be my last round of STD testing at the official 90 day mark. I hope to have the results soon.

I'm sure other people have probably asked this question. . . The CDC website states that 97% will have detectable antibodies at 3 months, which leaves a scant 3% who won't show antibodies until after that time period or up to 6 months later. I know it's unlikely, but doesn't that mean there is a minute chance that I could still have HIV after a 3 month negative?

I don't mean to question a confirmed negative result, but I just want to be sure that there won't be any risk of me unknowingly infecting my wife in the future (if she ever wants to have sex with me again. . .)

Scross,

You're already conclusively hiv negative. Unless you're on chemotherapy for cancer, on anti-rejection drugs following organ transplant, or have been injecting street drugs, every day, for YEARS, then NO, your result is not going to change.

You've been repeatedly told that you really didn't have a risk to begin with.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

Well, the doctor's office called, and all test results were negative at 13 weeks. I guess I can close this chapter of my life, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

I still have my doubts about whether my results are accurate, as far as herpes goes. This is an HIV forum, though, so I won't go into that.

In any case, I really want to thank both Ann and Andy. Both of you will never know how much you helped me, but I will forever be eternally thankful. Best wishes and luck to both of you and all the other souls on this forum.
