Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

I've found some postings that are similar, but not quite the same as my experience.  From what I have read, my encounter (as follows) would not warrant an hiv test.  Like most everyone else, I'm hoping for your expert opinion...
Encounter:  Two nights ago I had a meeting with a pre-op transexual (M2F).  Covered oral was performed on me first.  I then performed covered oral on the escort.  Along the way we switched to mutual master bation and I performed covered anal for a short time.  Then I went back down and performed more oral, only this time it was uncovered (I had mentioned that I wanted to see her ejaculate, thats why it probably got un-covered).  The escort then ejaculated in my mouth.  Now realizing the cover was gone, I spit out everything.
Needless to say, panic set in.  The escort assured me they were clean (would they really say they weren't if they had something?).  So...I go see my Dr. the next day and he ordered tests for other STD's but didn't seem to worried about hiv.  From what I've read here, it sounds like I shouldn't worry about it either, but I'd like your expert opinion.

You were not at risk of contracting HIV.

Despite the occasional report from someone who insists they became infected through giving oral, those reports never seem to hold up under careful, scientific examination. So I agree with Rod that you are worrying needlessly.

The only confirmed means of HIV transmission sexually are through unprotected (uncovered) vaginal and anal intercourse. So as long as you consistently use condoms for those activities, you will be well protected as far as HIV is concerned.

I don't see any need for testing or for further concern about your incident.

BTW...the tests my Dr. ordered for other STD's came back neg. too.
