Am I Infected? Urgent
« on: March 25, 2013, 10:09:31 am »

Dr Dear Andy, I'm Cesar de Chile. I would like to inquire about the likelihood of contracting the HIV virus. About two weeks ago I had my first homosexual relationship, in which I practiced and practiced oral sex without ejaculation and no condom was around 2 minutes. after I practice anal sex with a condom for a period no longer than five minutes, the condom at first glance did not break, and when it breaks gerenalmente q explodes, is what I have understood, unless q is broken by microcracks.
In the case that the person with whom I have had involving HIV, chances of HIV infection, since in interner there are different opinions, and I know that making me a test at 3 months and then at 6 months will get results.
As directed, there would be likelihood of getting HIV??. It was a practice of safe sex??? You need realizarme HIV test???
Please help as this has me very complicated issue and devastated.

Given your kindness Best Regards

Hello, Cesar. You've posted in both Spanish and then English so I have moved your entry here. In the future please post only in this thread and in English. Our rule is for members to post only in one thread. Thanks for your cooperation.

Basically you are worrying unnecesarily. The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. And yes, you would have known if the condom had failed because when that happens it's not about little holes. The whole thing goes and ends up looking like a hoop with fringe on the penis.

There is no need for HIV testing nor for further concern on your part. We do advise anyone who is sexually active to regularly have a full STD panel done because other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV. That should be done at least once a year.

This time there is no need for HIV concern and you can get on with your life without worrying.
