How close to the hotel can we find. . . . . . . .
« on: July 20, 2009, 04:48:45 pm »
Does anyone know if some of these things are relatively close to our hotel?

1.  Liquor store
2.  Food/convenience store (I like to have some snacks in my room)
3.  Drug store  (one never knows)
4.  Strip club (this ones for Aztecan, Robert, & Jan  :D)
5.  A church (this is for all the naughty attendees who will need to pray for redemption--which    includes just about everyone--except me.)
6.  One of those Segway places like we had in MC.  That was fun.  (David_NC crashed his though   :o)
7.  Massage parlor   :-X
8.  Plaster repairman (for Cliffy  :P)

You bitch! I didn't crash;  I merely activated the emergency shutoff by slightly bumping a traffic diverter.  Besides, it was Cliff's fault.  He cut me off and caused me to take an unintended detour!   ;)

I've been searching online, and liquor stores might have another name there, but considering most bars close at 1am, I'm guessing  there will be a liquor store within a block or two. There is a CVS drugstore  a couple of blocks away. I am still working on a grocery location.

Soy milk for Mim will probably be imported from Texas.

Massage and striptease services are available in my room, and I'm happy to report that Santi has booked all available openings...for himself...something to do with those rainbow Unico briefs I bought in Mexico City...

Grocery stores are not all that prevelant in Boston -- there are a couple of options "relatively" nearby -- meaning a short to medium walk away.  There is one (either a Shaw's or Stop&Shop, can't remember which), on Huntington Ave, by the Prudential Center and a Whole Foods is found a little further away by Symphony Hall.  I can't imagine that there isn't a convenience store somewhere in the neighborhood, however.

As for Massages and strippers -- when you stop by Billy's restaurant for breakfast, pick up a free copy of Bay Windows, the local gay newspapter, I'm sure they'll have what you are looking for listed.....   ;)

Going through stuff I've been printing and surfing the web in getting ready for our trip I found that there is a place called Lionette's Market (according to google maps a 7min walk from the hotel) at 577 Tremont St.  It bills itself as selling only Local Clean Sustainable Food.

Can th Eagle offer me something clean and sustainable as well? ;D

I don't know about this place. We have one in Fort Lauderdale, and it scares the shit out of me everytime I go.

I read we should order the Anna Nicole Smith or the Michell Obama from the "sassy" bartender, Jack.

Wouldn't it be worth a chuckle if someone scatch "RAB was here." on the wall....or bathtub...or whatever is in there.

Too late, the p*** trough already has RAB etched indelibly on its bottom - and probably his!  ::)

I used to enjoy the Eagle in San Francisco, but haven't been in a long time.

Hmmm, perhaps I should pack some "accouterments."  8)

Like you didn't intend to bring your leather all along. ::)  :D . See you at the Ramrod, sweety. Too bad I got rid of my leather 'ho'ing boots.
Eagle: "neighborhood bar, friendliest bartenders" with no dress codes. Good start spot for out of towners.

I've mapped out (and printed) directions to Whole Foods and the closest nice-looking liquor store. Ask me in Boston and I'll probably have a nice color google printout for you. Whole Foods is a little over a mile away and the liquor store is about 5 blocks from the Chandler.

I'll happily lead a group over to Whole Foods -- I always like to have some goodies in my room -- I like to take my Reyataz early in the morning, and I require food for that (yeah -- I now blame the Reyataz for my waistline..  ;D).  It's actually a pretty nice walk.

Liquor stores -- well, not so much for me.

lol! I agree. They are very nice. However, the few times I've been to Ramrod they were...how to put this delicately...well, lets just say they were extremely welcoming! And drag queens scare me!

The Boston Eagle

It might not be the same one I knew when I lived around  there they got in big trouble for some stuff goin on there > At least the story I had heard ? ( to cover my self incase they get upest that some one has the nerve to bring up an old scandal with deep wounds )

I had thought it was closed down quite some time ago like 1990 ish I do not know the exact date ? Unless it reopened after the scandal and dust settled maybe new management same name ? The news paper article  I read  had said they were being closed for showing men on men porn in the basement and when the police radded the place and asked for ID s some of the film viewers were minors and under age in there teens ? This did not go over well with the people in Boston ? Might have been another Eagles though ? The bar was known as the Eagles and it was in Boston anything else I am not sure of ? So you do know it is bar that caters to mostly men exclusively right ? IN other words a gay bar . So I guess that was what was being searched for right ? just to make this perfectly clear and there are no mistakes would not want  some Mormon from the midwest goin there to save souls and find themselves over whelmed by the clientele .

The bar had defended it self by saying the younger people had asked how is AIDS transmitted and some brightest bulb in the box or sharpest tool in the shed had said we have some films that can educate you on how HIV and AIDS is transmitted at least that was what they had tried to tell the police about why this was goin on ?

some times people do with out thinking while just goin about there day ?

I hope this is just a short story that some one might have told me and was a twisted attempt at a joke I had heard ( in case the bar denies all knowledge and wants to sew for liable ) I am sure if anyone says anything at the bar they will say that was a long time ago and it was so blown out of propotion and the police set us up and well they might deny any knowledge of it I am sure some of the older people who live around there might recall that scandal ?

AS I have heard  knowledge is power and knowing about the places you go might make it more interesting and fun >

good luck and all my best to you

EM
