Here's what happened
On the first of december I had unprotected oral sex (on me) from a sex worker. She said she just brushed her her teeth about 15 mins before Also briefly i performed oral on her. we had protected vaginal sex, her condom. I guess it is paranoid to think she sabatoged the condom, i saw her unroll it on me and plus it was intact at the end i then pulled it off and she fellated me to orgasm. I met her on the net and i've talked to her since then, she says she gets tested every two weeks and is fine. On the 8th of this month i got tested for gonorrhea, clamydia, and syph. All calme back negative
My questions
Should HIV be a concern in this situation in the least bit? And if so, should i take the six week and then just drop it?
Also, is the test i took for the other 3 sti's reliable at about eight days after? I feel a bit of an itching and the head of my penis is a bit red, but called into today to find the test results were negative.
Anybody's input on this situation is greatly appreciated. One thing that worries me is that maybe she is recently infected or something, so i have a higher chance of getting it.
Finally, I may or may not have hsv1 down below (was positive on bloodtest) but dont think anything was overtly open or bleeding or anything, would the condom be enough to protect me? One more thing. What defines "condom failure" is it basically if it slips off or breaks? I think this condom she used slipped a bit up on my penis, but ever came off, I distinctly remember pulling it of for the oral sex.

Condom failure is where it pops. Basically you pull out and you find your penis sticking out of it. Trust me, you would know.

There is no risk for HIV in your story. Test if you like, but I wouldn't bother.

What im going to get real with is thanking you for your fast reply cause it means alot. What freaked me out today was your typical "is this ARS sitatuion" where i feel really tired weak and things like that, clammy. I appreciate you're fast reply it really means so much. Does ARS ever happen with one symptom like that? I suppose maybe stress and not eating right, things like that.

I just don't know what to think at this point since I do feel really weak and all.

Why would the prostitute sabotage the condom? Did she give any impression that she had a desire to get HIV? You do realize that they have to protect themselves from whatever the clients are carrying, so there is no reason for her to do that, since she had no idea what it is you might have.

If you would feel better testing, it is up to you. Some people will not believe anything people say and need a negative result to ease their fears, so if you need that, then test at the 3 month mark.

Remember feeling tired isn't necessarily HIV related. If that were true, then everyone has HIV. Don't chase symptoms, the only thing that matters is the test. If you do test, you will be negative though.

..also there are no "typical ARS" symptoms. There are symptoms that can be associated with HIV, but they are so similar to other more common diseases (present at this time of year) that you can't point at symptoms and suggest HIV.

Thanks for the information, the fast replies and support. You guys are really amazing. She rolled the condom on me, so i highly doubt she did something to it or something. I guess i'm just paraniod for feeling so weird today. But i guess any viral infection is pretty common and weird that there's no fever anyhow. I'm sure its my head. I think i'll test at six weeks and twelve just for piece of mind. Again, you guys are just amazing with how fast you respond and everything. I think i just need to cool it a bit, eat better and relax. Any more suggestions are appreciated, and is there a place on this forum that takes donations? THANKS everyone.

Here's a question maybe the experts here can help with: If you were getting any symptoms due to HIV infection, would that mean that you would test positive at that time since the virus is causing symptoms?

You may not test positive during the seroconversion and receive a negative result if tested to early. The body has to have time to build up antibodies to a detectable level to test. Most people will test positive by six weeks but will not be conclusive until they have had their 12/13 week test.

I am getting tested in about two hours (two days away from seven weeks) but i think that's all i need because ( As i posted on dec 13 and everyone said) I didn't have a risk: protected vaginal and unprotected oral from a sex worker. I think this will be sufficient for piece of mind. Thanks for the help. Wish me luck!

sorry about that Ann. I guess I just want to say thanks to everyone. Ofcourse i tested negative 'cause there was no risk (just my guilty conscience). I also want to apolgise cause i was one of the people PM'ing with questions, even if that was a wrong thing to do the person who answered still helped out and was great (she knows who she is) I'm really thinking about everyone here. Such great people. So thanks for all the help.

If I wore a condom for vaginal sex and it slipped, it would have to slip off to pose a risk right? My problem is that i think i recalled feeling vaginal secretions, yet when i withdrew the condom was most certainly on. Is my premise about condom slippage correct?

Thanks for the quick reply Rod. I guess I'm still over reacting to some degree. I somehow think that the condom somehow slipped on, then got on again (since it was on when i withdrew) silly i know. But i guess alot of folks over react. Thanks again

Whatever you think you "felt," if the condom was still on and the head of your penis was still covered, then as far as HIV is concerned you were covered literally and figuratively. Period.

Keep using those condoms everytime you have intercourse. They provide very effective protection.

I have a question about neuropathy. When would that occur? Would it tend to be later than sooner? Would it be on both sides? Thanks. I'm not freaking about it, but i'm interested in what experts here have to say about that

When neuropathy is associated with hiv, it is as a result of nerve damage from the toxic, but lifesaving, drugs used to control the virus.
