Hello ,

I just entered the forum an I am a bit concerned about a situation I had with a prostitute 2 weeks ago.
We had vaginal intercourse with a condom. Oral sex was also perfomed with a condom.
In the end she gave me a handjob and was spiting on my penis thereby. As she was doing the handjob I touched her vagina for about 30 seconds. I did not really finger her!

Before we met i saw that the finger I later touched her with was a little bit bleeding! That comes through nervous finger biting. It was a very small wound of 1-2mm maybe. That finger stopped bleeding before we had sex. As we finished I saw that it has to have started in the act, because there were small amounts of blood (dry) around my fingernail.

Do you see a risk in this situation for contracting HIV? Would there be a larger risk if I actually fingered her?
How do you see the risk for contracting a disease like Hepatitis?
Is testing recommended for this situation?

No matter what details you throw into the mix including bleeding, fingering is absolutely not a risk for HIV transmission. Zero risk. HIV is a fragile virus and not transmitted in that manner. Nor in receiving oral either including without a condom on.

All you have to know about protecting yourself against the sexual transmission of HIV is to always use a condom for vaginal and anal intercourse. It really is that simple.

So you never heard about a infection that way? I just ask because there are still people who do not know how they contracted HIV because they thought to perform safe sex......

No risk. Period.

Those stories about people who insist they didn't do anything unsafe are unreliable for a number of reasons. Sometimes they don't recall what they did. Others recall but are uncomfortable reporting accurately about their activities.

In any case, you were not at risk and there is no cause for further concern on your part.

now two and a half weeks after the mentioned sex i have a sore throat since about 5 days.
i also feel like i have a flu. I am worried this could be symptoms for an infection as I red in the internet.

What do you think? I this just psychological??
I never ever had unprotected sex and will never have until marriage and being 100% in the know about the status of my partner! I also ask myself why I am so frightened??!? is this a phobia i am getting? I am also asking myself whether the condom broke. But I think i would have noticed a broke condom!?!

I was in a hotel last week with an air conditioning in the room.So I guess this could be the reason for the sore throat. I have no cold.

Can you take my fear?

There is nothing HIV specific about your symptoms. That's not a surprise since you haven't done anything to put you at risk for the virus.

If they persist you should discuss them with your doctor instead of guessing and worrying about a non-existent HIV problem.

This is not an HIV situation. Period.

You did not have a risk for hiv infection as you have been told. If the condom broke, you would have noticed. Broken condoms are VERY obvious.

There have been long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

We had vaginal sex as the condom broke. I noticed it the time it happened and stopped the act immediatly, which means that the time I had been unprotected lasted about 2 seconds.

The amount of vaginal fluid was very low, which forced the condom failure. The girl told me that she is tested every 6 months and just got tested last week. She even showed me the puncture of the syringe to calm me.

I have to add that I am circumcised.

How do you see my risk??

Based on your reporting, I'd say your recent incident is one which barely qualifies as a risk. It was of very short duration and a single instance during which you were protected until the condom broke.

I suggest getting tested mainly for your peace of mind. Test at 3 months for a conclusive result. You can do an initial test at 6 weeks if you are particularly anxious to get an answer. Assuming that you test negative as I expect you to, then a negative a 6 weeks points the way to continuing to test negative at 3 months.

I expect you to come out of this ok.

I have collected some facts about the transmission of HIV from female to male and I am trying to educate myself in that case.

I have red that I you have intercourse the penis needs to get really wet by vaginal fluids to give you a risk of transmission. Further, the fluid needs to be penetrated into the muscous membrane (?). This cannot be done within a few seconds...
People who are circumcised have a lower risk (lower by 50-60%) to get infected, because they have less muscous membrane which could be a gate for the virus.
Another important aspect is, that the penetrating person has a lower risk than the penetrated person.

Can you confirm all those facts as an expert Andy (an maybe the others)?

Ann mentioned a several times in other threads, that she never saw the active part coming out positive after an condom failure.....can you confirm that??

Finally I want to thank you for the service you provide in this forums. This will hopefully help people to get to learn more about the virus.

Don't have any unprotected penetrative anal or vaginal sex and it won't be a concern. USE CONDOMS.
