Title: distressed, i need help...
Post by: moonfleet on October 31, 2007, 04:44:21 pm
hello everyone,
I am new here. Thanks for your help.. anyway this is the situation I am in:
I had a risky encounter with a prostitute. when I have taken my clothes off there was no erection in my penis. so she started to give me a blowjob. indeed we can not call this blowjob because there was no erection and it lasted only 5 or 6 seconds. then I told her to stop. still I couldn't get any erected. I didn't like the situation I was in and decided to leave. There happened nothing than this.
It was not even an oral sex, it was an oral touch only which lasted 5-6 seconds. The day after the incident I talked to a doctor, who is responsible for these types of illnesses, and he said there is no need to worry because hiv is not transmitted in this way. and he also said that they do tests to the sex workers and there isn't any case to be afraid of.(actually this is a small city where I live and there is only one place for them to work).
I have read comments and you say no risk for receptive oral sex. but I can not concentrate on my life. I only have protected sex with my girl friend from that day not to put her at risk. she wants to have unprotected like in the old days and I refuse. I want to have unprotected sex with her because she thinks that I don't love her anymore. But I don't want to infect her if I was infected. Please help me. Can i turn back to my normal life?
Can i have unprotected sex with her like in the past?      looking forward to hearing from you. thanks.

Your doctor is correct.

This is absolutely not an HIV situation. You do not need to test as a result of this.

Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) and follow the links to our Lessons to learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

yes of course I have read the welcome thread but  you know my personality is a little full of anxieties. and as you see this is not only about me. it is also about my girlfriend.  I have to think twice in this case...

I know nothing about your personality and I don't particularly care to.

Irrespective of your "need" to think for your girlfriend this is still a non risk situation.

But since you raise the issue of your girlfriend, here's a thought. Why don't you be open and honest with her about your sexual adventures and let her think for herself?

How do you think that might work out, eh?

you are right it was a mistake but I am not here to judge my relationships. I am here to learn about risks of the infection. Because I am confused and there are lots of ifs in my mind. I've read some sites saying that the receptive partner can be infected if blood enters from urethra. that is why I am mainly distressed.

moon,

Not one person has ever become infected with hiv by having their penis sucked and you won't be the first. Not only is saliva not infectious, it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect. Unless you punched this woman in the mouth before she blew you, then you can forget about the whole blood thing.

You did not have a risk for hiv infection.

how about this scenario?
the top of the penis(the beginning of the urethra)  comes in contact with a sore or a mouth ulcer in her mouth? a bleeding sore or not it doesn't matter...
I know lots of ifs but I can't stop my mind thinking all possibilities.

No, no how about this scenario.

Your mind can do whatever it does.

The fact is as you've already been told that no guy has ever been documented to have been infected by getting his dick sucked. And as Ann said you aren't going to be the first.

So no matter what details your imagination comes up with that's still the bottom line.

No risk. Get it? No need for testing.

Period. End of story.

Thank you very much for your replies.
I understood that there is no risk for hiv in my situation. ok. it is good. but I have last 2 questions. It would be great if you answered them.

1) You say your comments are based on science and my doctor's are too. I believe what you say because I know that the only true thing in the world is science as my job is based on science. But I don't understand why some sites and doctors, including famous and reliable ones, classify receptive felliato "low risk" ? Don't they know science? or Don't they read anything new about science?
Doing this they confuse people like me!

2)you say there has never been a single documented transmission case during receptive oral sex. How can we know? people usually practise other sexual behaviours after the oral. They may think they were infected from anal or vaginal sex. but it is possible that they were infected form oral and they keep on thinking that it was because of the vaginal(or anal). isn't is possible. for example there is an infected person who practised oral and vaginal sex. how can anyone be sure from which activity the person was infected?

Thank you very much again. Take care of yourselves.
