I am sorry, but I'm not sure how to post to Ann or Andy.  I need some advice.  My apologies if this is not the proper way to contact.

Idiot,

I have split your post out of the thread where you posted it and created your own thread, which is the only place you should post. You can change the thread's title by hitting the "modify" button in the upper right-hand corner of your first post.

Please make sure you read the Welcome Thread so you understand our rules before continuing. Thank you for your cooperation.

So, what are you worried about?

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Im sorry if I posted incoorectly.  I am not very skilled at the internet and such.
I will apologize in advance for posting this question as I know it has been asked and answered before.  I have read the responses, but I guess I'm looking for a direct answer, to me.  I am a man, who recently had anal sex with an Asian transexual.  I have never done this before, and never will again.  Not making excuses, but of course alcohol was heavily involved.  I know how irresponsible that is and will not make that mistake again.  I was the insertive partner (anal sex) and of course the condom broke sometime during the 4 - 5minute session.  I think the break was actually on the side of the condon, near the tip (not sure if that is even possible, but I was drunk and don't have a clear recollection of the exact location).  So, I'm going to assume the worst case scenario and say it was directly at the tip.  I pulled out, confirmed the hole (by sticking my finger through the condom) and began to panic...  The partner (not sure what the correct term is, he or she) seemed concerned as well, but stated emphatically stated that they were HIV negative.  He stated that he has a boyfriend, and that he never "barebacks."  Stated that he has not had sex in over a month as his boyfiend is away.  Also stated that he is a medical student and doesn't even swallow cum because of the risks invloved.  He agreed to get tested in two weeks and call me with the results.  I got swabed on Monday (this happened on Friday) and tested negative. I guess I'm just looking to Ann or Andy for some reassureance.  Is it still true that insertive partners are very unlikley to contract HIV?  Some sites on the internet indicate that I am at high risk.  I spent three tours in the Middle East in heavy combat in the Marine Corps., but I have never been this afraid...  Sorry for bothering you and thank you for your time.

Idiot,

It is true that the insertive partner is at less risk than the receptive partner.

You were protected up until the condom broke. I have yet to see the insertive partner end up positive due to a condom break, but you have been at risk and you do need to test to be sure.

The earliest you should re-test is a six weeks, as the vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by this time. The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. A six week negative must be confirmed at the three month point, but is highly unlikely to change.

Make sure you read through the condom and lube links in my signature line. A correctly used condom rarely breaks.

For what it's worth, your responses, and your attention mean a lot.  I am embarrassed by my actions.  I ship out again soon, and can't even tell anyone about this, or I will be kicked out of my unit.  Informely, but kicked out nonetheless.  I hope im not the first insertive guy to test positive.  I appreciate your time and am sorry to have bothered you.  Can you please make this post, not public, if it is public.  Thanks again so much.

Idiot,

You've posted on a public forum, so of course it's public.

If you're worried about being recognised through your screen name, I can change it for you. Send me a PM (private message - click on the little bubble with IM in it that appears under my avatar) with what name you want to use and I'll give you the information you need to make it happen.
