New numbers after Atripla

Just wanted to give an update--again thanks to all of you who contribute to these forums--you provide a great deal of information and support--much appreciated....I'll be 56 next month and was diagnosed as HIV+ in August 2009, labs in September were CD4 198 and VL 131,090.  Started Atripla and labs in October were CD4 248 and VL 820...had blood work last week and results today-CD4 237 VL undetectable....go back in four months.....guess I was hoping for higher CD4 but all in all feel the numbers look good at this point

Thanks for checking in, seeker. I'm glad you're doing better. It's my understanding that your CD4 dont really start picking up until the viral load goes down. More important is your cd4cd8%. (what's yours?)You can see my numbers on my signature, my cd4's actually dropped after starting meds, but the doc said he viewed it as no change because I had just started the meds. My next numbers are coming in a couple months, just seen him a few days ago and he was'nt concerned about my numbers as they have been so far.

As long as you're adherent and stay undetectable, the CD4s should start creeping up. It sounds like you're doing great ;)
